I'll be at Sour fest, beer and burger battle, malt and vine's anniversary, and back in black. Anything I'm woefully missing?

Definitely sour fest, probably the cask fest, haven't decided how to fill the little bit of remaining time I'll be up there. I'm looking forward to meeting some of the Washington BAs in person.

Back in Black, Sour fest, and Bruery night at Noble Fir. Those are the only ones I've got planned for sure, but I'm sure I'll wind up going to one of the other 600 events going on during beer week, so many events to keep track of! Overwhelming!

I'm shooting for Back in Black and Sour Fest, starting early for both.

My wife and I are going to the Firestone Walker and chocolate pairing at the Pine Box, which is our idea of a perfect date night.*

*Here's how that decision went down:
    Me: "blah blah blah blah"
Wife: [politely nods while thinking about / doing other things]
Me: "blah blah Seattle Beer Week events blah blah Firestone Walker and chocolate at -- "
Wife: "Wait! When? We're going." [starts dialing the baby-sitter before I can answer.]

    I love that woman.

At Back in Black right now, drinking Firestone PNC Buckwheat Imp Stout aged in bourbon barrels. Similar to Parabola but a little more bourbon forward. Great stuff. Final blend is supposed to include tequila barrels.

Oh man PNC was hands-down the best beer at the back in black event.

Me and my buddy enjoyed the following:

    Abyss 2010
    Army of Darkness
    Older Viscosity
    Suge Knight
    PNC
    Silva Stout
    Bourbon Barrel Stone IRS 2008

Great event I would say. It wasn't that crowded either when we went (around noon).

Huh. There must have been an earlier plan with some BBomb bottles that got scrapped.

Speaking of bottles, when I was at Fremont on Friday I saw cases of The First Nail sitting in the backroom.

Kudos to Bryan Dombrowski at Elliott Bay Pizza in Mill Creek and the Northwest rep for Stone Brewing - apologies for not remembering his name - for hosting a very enjoyable beer pairing dinner:

In addition to the menu items we tasted 06, 07, 10 verticals.
    Nice.

Yeah, Bryan's a good guy and I consider Elliot Bay kind of a secret little spot around the North end. Not only is their beer great but the pizza is absolutely phenomenal.

Are you gonna be at sour fest NWer?

I'm jumping on the noon train to Seattle and will be heading to Bottleworks for the Stone event when I arrive (anyone know if Deviation is still available for on-site?), then proceeding to the Latona Cask Fest. Tomorrow, Sour Fest!

Looking forward to putting some faces & names to BA users.

    Kev,
When I was there on Monday they still had Deviation on the list.

I agree. Great beer selection and good pizza (wouldn't say phenomenal but I definitely enjoy it). I am glad I only live about 4 miles away, though 164th can be a pain in the ass.

All told, Eliot Bay = awesomeness.
