And if CenturyLink is anything like most other sports venues, the price is jacked up. And people wonder why I don't drink at sporting events at stadiums and arenas.

The Budweiser almost turned into Bud Light. 5.0% to 4.4% tested
Bud Light from 4.2% to 3.9% tested.

Did they also measure the ABV of the beers bought at stores?

I could see this being done for beers with higher alcohol contents though. At Petco they sell Speedway, I wonder if that's watered down too.

I haven't really enjoyed a live sporting event in years. Part of it was because I felt like the beer was almost as big a rip off as the ticket. This shifts the balance a little. Now I view tickets and beer as approximately the same level of rip-off.

OP, missed your post and accidentally started a new thread. I'll put my thoughts from there over here and I asked mods to delete the other thread.

I question the testing results here, as it seems the easiest way for IEH Labs to legitimize their study would have been to also test the same beers outside of the stadium...from other kegs and even cans, just to be sure that the ABVs were or were not consistent across those. Either way, it raised questions for me as I often have wondered if ANY establishment could tamper with a keg to water it down to either get more pours, or as suggested here, keep folks from getting drunk (which seems to only encourage more drinking). How could an establishment tamper with a keg? Or would it have to arrive from the brewery via a distributor in a watered down form?

Also, I've seen video online in which a guy tests two supposedly different beer size options at the Seattle stadium, one which is more expensive, and it turns out they hold the same amount. Anyone ever tested the veracity of the vid? Seems it was at Qwest which isn't in existence anymore, right?

That video is from a few years ago. Qwest is the same stadium as CenturyLink; it was renamed after CenturyLink bought Qwest. Anyway, I believe the spin after the video was along these lines: "Fans aren't getting screwed when they buy a large beer, they're getting more than they should when they purchase the smaller beer."

A small scale craft brewer may have issues keeping a beer's ABV consistent from batch to batch, but these are mostly big time brewers who pride themselves on quality control and batch consistency.

It would have to come that way from the brewery. The article references a similar situation in San Diego in 2008 when they admitted getting 3.2% beer from the breweries to sell, but weren't advertising that.

I would hope that now that Ballast Point and Stone both have their own venues at Petco that they would keep everything consistent. That would make them look so bad if people found out they were watering down their own beer.

I doubt that would be a problem. Only Bud and Miller were mentioned in that article. I would think only big breweries would have enough of a market to make separate batches of 3.2 % (ABW not ABV) beer for places like Utah and other areas with those rules still on the books.

(according to Wikipedia: Utah, Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma grocery stores can only sell 3.2% ABW beer)

Last time I went to a Yankee game, cans of bud were twelve bucks and that was five or six years ago.

No. How do you add water to a keg? Is the brewer complicate, do they pour the beer behind a curtain and add seltzer. How is it done, I ask, how is it done! Drinking at stadiums always completely sucks, face it.

It's actually a legit question with the kegs. It just made me laugh because the answer to your literal question is "you water down a beer by adding water to the beer," but the actual logistics are a legit question.
