I wil be pulling into seattle in about 2 hours and will be staying tonight in tacoma and tomorrow downtown seattle. Tomorrow I plan on hitting Elysian and the Taphouse Grill. Just seeing if any locals or anyone familiar with the area knows any good places closer to tacoma for tonight? Obviously with some decent beer on tap. I'm trying to seek out Pliny, Heady Topper, and enjoy by, but so far no luck. I will probably visit bottleworks in seattle as well.

    Anything helps thanks!

Unless you have a friend who lives here and is an active trader, don't count on Pliny or Heady.

Go to Engine House Number 9 and Red Hot in Tacoma.

I moved this to "Northwest" from "Beer Talk"...

You won't find Heady Topper available outside of Vermont unless it's via trade and Pliny the Elder (and Russian River in general) is no longer distributed to Washington - so no point in seeking either of those. Locals can help with other suggestions...

    Cheers,
    Brian

By most accounts, you can skip Taphouse. Pretty much walk into any bar you see, and you'll see brews you've never heard of of, let alone had. Drink them!

Here at Taphouse Grille for the first time, about to enjoy a sampler of 2013 Double Bastard, Arrogant Bastard, Ruination, and Leafer Madness. Ahh this place is heaven.

If you are staying in downtown Seattle tomorrow night, skip Taphouse Grill --- at first glance it seems like the taplist is extensive, but the vibes are not good and I've experienced dirty taplines there. Instead, consider Collins Pub, Elysian Fields (which sounds like it's on your list), Bambino's Pizzeria, and Pike Brewing. And, as beertunes mentioned, you're bound to find something you've never heard of anywhere in Seattle.

Well.....I guess everyone needs to go to Tap House at least once. There is another 'house' two blocks from you that has multiple taps as well. If that is what you are looking for.

When in downtown Seattle, you might hit Pine Box as well.

Brouwers in Fremont would also be a great stop and not to far from Bottleworks.

Both have great tap selections and good food.
