I know this beer is slowly but surely gaining respect here as a top contender in the BBA barleywine field, but I couldn't find much info about it on the Sebago site or here. So I emailed the brewery and got this response from Sebago's brewmaster:

"Thanks for your interest in our barleywine. It’s one of my favorite beers that we make.

The beer you had was most likely our 2011 batch, bourbon barrel aged for about 10 months. We released it in October of last year and bottled a very limited amount. We have released this beer in bottles three times, 2009, 2010 and 2011. We currently do not have a batch going. We’re planning on taking a year off with this beer. But it will be back.

We age the beer in Woodford’s Reserve barrels.

Depending on where you live, you may still be able to find some on the shelves. I think there is still some available at a couple of stores here in Portland. And we’ve still got a couple of cases left at the brewery if you’re interested.

    Best,

    Tom Abercrombie

    TL;DR
-There have been 3 limited bottle releases (2009, 2010, 2011)
-No batch currently being brewed (they're taking a year off)
-Aged in Woodford Reserve barrels for about 10 months
    -Will certainly be brewed again

Nice to finally see this one slowly climbing up the charts, but really bummed that they're taking this year off! Damn.

Notice: "we've still got a couple cases left at the brewery", if that's a possibility...

I have a bottle or two of this, and can still get a couple bottles if anyone is interested in a trade.
