I have enjoyed watching/lurking on this one in the past. I have not participated in it before, but if nobody else wants to run it I will jump in and do it..... I have run a few BIFs in the past...just throwing it out there.... (ps I would need all the details forwarded to me if I were to run it so I didn't screw it up from the start.)

 

The rules were lost when beeradvocate had its great outage. I can forward you the rules that were posted on fb if you can't see the link above.

 

I cannot see the link above. It only takes me to a page of random events. If you could forward the rules to me it would be appreciated as long as people are okay with me running this BIF this year.

You have my vote, looks like you may have got off the hook Signs. Cuzco, I'll be busy for the next couple of days but if there is anything I can do to help after that, let me know. I would reccomend people with less than 5-10 trades have some sort of sponsor and emphasize that whoever signs up MUST know they will be able to ship within the time frame given because we will have a little less time than usual to do our shopping.

Again, if you do deide to do this, let me know if you need anything. If you don't/can't do it, let signsofpain know, from what I understand she'll be more than happy to take over the reigns

 

If I wasn't already running 2 BIFs right now, I'd jump in just to organize, probably not even participate.

If someone needs a hand with enforcement and organization, I'd be happy to assist as I am able. Please also remember that last years had lots of issues with.... mediocre boxes, to put it lightly, as well as some late boxes, and unless I'm mistaken, some no shows?

I think that it should be made VERY clear beforehand that any no shows are reported to the bad trader list, and this year, I'd say that anybody who is an unestablished trader should require a sponsor for their box, who is an experienced trader and member of BA. I'd also cut out anybody on the site less than 4 months, but that's just my opinion. I'd say anybody with less than 5 solid trades and a decent BIF box would require sponsorship.

That being said, I'd also be happy to sponsor a new trader from my neck of the woods who is in need. Will need full information, name, address, phone number, and I'd prefer a facebook friendship to avoid issues. Communication is key with a BIF this big, as this one especially has VERY high sign-up numbers.

 

Yeah there were definitely a number of issues last year, which is in large part why the field has scattered everywhere.

I'd suggest taking on traders with solid time on site and experience only. The window is already getting too tight for any kind of provisional period for new traders. Basically just treat it more like a normal BIF than the all-inclusive thing of the past.

It sounds like Cuzco is up for running this, and I am completely fine with that.
