Are we gonna all poker face this till nearly Christmas or speak up about if we've sent or received our secret Santa packages?

I'd vote for poker facing. Certainly about any sending, anyway. That could be a give-away.

Mentioning you've received something wouldn't though, would it?

Not sure what's best really. If you say if you've sent yours and someone has already received theirs, then you'll have a good idea who the sender was, same applies if you've not sent yours and the recipient is still waiting for theirs...poker face probably?

I'll be saving mine 'til Xmas day regardless and genuinely looking forward to it.

    Thank you Secret Santa

I think I might be a contender for best beers received

I'd just like to say a massive thanks to my Secret Santa. Excellent choice of beers (never had any of them) and really looking forward to trying them.

Yes, I'm chuffed that I not only got 3 great beers, all of which I've not tried
but also the opportunity to sample a brewery's ware's that I've never had

Having the Cheshire - Govinda Barrel Aged IPA from my secret santa and loving it. Getting a lovely pear aftertaste which Mrs. K is also enjoying. :grinning:

Many thanks to my Secret Santa!
Had them all between Christmas Eve and Day, and I enjoyed them all. A few styles I'd not had before either, so I was very impressed.

    Cheers!

After being laid low by fever post Christmas (all my own doing, I imagine), I rose from the dead at the weekend, and was able to have my final Secret Santa beer.

A tasty scotch ale... from Costa Rica of all places! Awesome.

Now the dust has settled, I wondered how everyone found the process of Secret Santa? Particularly postage?

My first time posting beer, and I learnt a couple of things: there's a 1 litre and 2 kg limit when sending alcohol, which I didn't know. I'd already packaged up my beer (which exceeded the 1L limit). In the end, I just told the assistant that I'd made a mistake, and in fact there was only 2 bottles in the package (< 1L) ...and then just hoped for the best!

Did anyone else come across similar problems? Does anyone have any tips / solutions / best practice for posting beer?

Pre-book online, print off the label and drop it off at the post office. Usually it's cheaper and you rarely get any questions.

    Yes & NO

The 1 litre limit is per item(ie bottle or can) so 5 times 500ml bottles no problem
& the 2kg limit is for royal mail, my was over & had to go Parcel Farce & was considerably more
    but hey, it's Christmas & I hope I added to someone's magic

I post beer fairly regularly through work, and thankfully the staff at the local post office know me now and don't ask any questions.

Pack it as well as possible and hope for the best.

Found the whole Secret Santa process to be a thoroughly enjoyable one though, and I would definitely be interested in taking part in future additions if it happens again!
