The only liquor store in Mass. that I go to is Yankee Spirits in Attleboro. It's only 15 minutes from my house, so it's a great local spot. When Jack's Abby started coming to Yankee it was always just Jabby Brau and Hoponius Union. I tried both and loved both.

In my last two visits to Yankee, I am noticing more Jack's Abby. I have seen Private Rye, Smoke and Dagger, Leisure Time Lager, Wheat Lager, Hurts like Helles and the Smoked Maple lager (although the last two came only as $5 single bottles, while the rest were in 4 packs ranging from $10-$12.

I want to thank Jack's Abby for distributing more of their offerings. So far I have loved everything from them that I have tried. I especially love Smoke and Dagger. There's still a few of those listed above that I am yet to try, so perhaps a new fave will emerge.

Additionally, I am also curious as to whether Yankee will see even more variety. Reading the list of beers done by Jack's Abby I hope this is the case. I would love to see bottles of Lashes, Saxonator, or Cascadian Scwartzbier (although those may all be one-offs).

It sounds like Yankee gets pretty much what everybody else does. For a while all JA really had enough of to send to stores was HU and Jabby (with a bit of Smoke and Dagger). The limited releases (stuff sold in single bottles) are more limited, so I guess they don't go to everybody, but I saw stuff like Saxonator and ABC at some very small stores, so my guess is Yankee got them and they just sold out before you saw them.

Timing is everything with these as well. They only have the 3 year-round beers. A few are seasonals (in 4-packs), like Private Rye, Leisure Time, Copper Lager. But the single bottles are one-time/annual/random - dunno if they have even figured out the method to the madness with all of those.

These appear to be the same line ups I see in the Taunton/Raynham area as well, and don't sell out as quick as busier locations. BA Framinghammer even seemed to have hung around longer than most. Great brews at a great price point!

I have not been to Yankee for a while but like cbeer88 said its all about timing. They probably got Lashes, Casc, and Sax its just people bought them up quick. Cascadian is best interpretation of Black Larger/IPA that I have tasted. I work in Worcester closer to JA brewery so Cascadian is still around and ABCS pops up every now and then. Lashes I think is a amber or red very good. Sax is ok. I am not a big quad dark Belgian fan and that's what it taste like.

Check out Chris Gasbarro's right up the road in North Attleboro. Its less than 2 miles away on the same road. While I think Yankee Spirits is superior, Gasbarro's has a much better Jack's Abby selection. They usually have a minimum of 8 of their offerings.

Just make sure you check dates. I saw some stuff from last year the last time I was there, a few months back.

Agreed. I have recently seen bottles of Hoponious Union without bottle dates on them in there.

It seems like on some Jack's Abby products the dates are on the bottles, while on others the dates are on the 4 pack holder. It's usually on one or the other though, I don't recall picking anything up that didn't have a date on one of the two.

Old 4 packs of Jabby Brau are a staple at Yankee unfortunately.

Sometimes Hoponius Union has the date on the 4 pack holder, though newer ones havr been on the bottle.

If I am correct, the seasonal brews are not dated on bottles, but the three year round beers are now dated on both. It used to be that the dates were only on 4pks only. So when I see a bottle of HU without a bottle date its pretty damn old.

I believe everything should now have a bottle date on the label.

Can anybody comment on the selection at the brewery? What's on tap? Is it the same stuff that normally gets distributed? I can't imagine it is...

I need to drink a pint of Almond Joy. It sounds unreal. I say it quite rarely, but I'll say it now. ISO

The list on their website is always quite accurate.

It's mostly the same stuff that gets distributed and then on occasion there will be brewery only one off stuff like all the barrel aged versions of the smoke and dagger. The last batch of 3 barrel aged S&D (including almond joy) were brewery and draft only. So you likely wouldn't see any still around as it's not a beer I can see anyone trying to age.

Unfortunately, I think you're forever out of luck on Almond Joy... sounded like Numb Swagger was the one they picked to roll with, and they mentioned to me that they do plan on brewing that again...

Not to hijack the thread, but my grandmother just bought me a 4 pack of Private Rye (yeah grandma!) and I was curious how everyone liked it. It's one of the few Jacks Abby offerings I have yet to try. I've dug them all so far.

I thought the Private Rye was just ok. I really liked the Brett Biere de Garde, but didn't care too much this for whatever reason. It's my least favorite of the many JA beers I have tried. I've heard people say they love it as well, so to each thier own.

No way you're going to find the Almond Joy. They only had it for the Battle of the Barrels competition. They haven't had it since. I would really like to see them revisit this brew because the sample that I had was phenomenal.

It just might be my favorite JA brew. Or at least contending for the top.

Normal Framinghammer was a brewery only beer and it was awesome! Funny how different an animal it was from BA version. Also I think Hurts Like Helles was at brewery a while before being bottled. Be aware also, I believe they are open all week for bottles sales just growler fills are Thurs - Sat. I picked up BAFH the week of release on a Tue I think
