I try to stick to a weekly/monthly budget of beer, if I spend too much one week, I may let off the next. I like to stick to about a beer a day or if I do have more that's ok, just never drunk. It's usually just one on a typical day, rarely two, and at the max three if I'm out with friends... however, all rules go out the window come Oktoberfest or St. Patrick's Day lol

Generally I try not to drink on consecutive nights. Usually no more than 3 12 oz bottles no matter the ABV, or one growler. I don't drink on work nights, but I have 3 and 4 days off on alternating weeks. So I get plenty of time to enjoy amazing beer. Being 40 with 3 young children and one in college changes a mans habits and priorities.

    cheers!

My budget is $12 a six pack $10 for a bomber max unless it's a special occasion ie Dark Lord Day or a road trip somewhere where I can't get the beer. Drinks per night I try not to get buzzed/drunk more than twice a week but on those nights I don't limit myself. The limit is usually imposed by the full stomach rather than any moral highground.

My wife and I have "happy hour" at home almost every night, which translates to 2-4 beers for me. That makes me sound like a complete alcoholic compared to some of the responses here, but I'd like to point out that I usually don't drink on Tuesdays. Usually.

I don't think anyone here is really drinking to excess man (aside from the $100 2+ case guy lol). I mean, if all we wanted to do was get drunk we wouldn't spend money on expensive beer.

I was simply inquiring, the more I post here the more I want to try and buy and hunt for. If I only drank 3 a week I think I'd have 5 fridges full after a while. I'm a one max on nights I have work early the next day kinda guy myself. It's not too often either. But I'll have probably 3 or 4 on nights I don't. That probably adds up to about 10-15 a week.

How does drinking as much as possible equate to more than one a week like said in my previous post. As for having a job yes, I have a career. I have been in the Air Force for thirteen years, attend school part time, and somehow able to have a few brews every now and then.

How is drinking a beer a night excessive? I don't know about variable differences, but believe the difference of opinion is due to your peculiar thoughts on consumption. Its cool though, enjoy your 2-3 beers a week.

I work 50 hours a week, wife & 3 young kids (2 of whom play sports) and play guitar in church band 2 nights a week and I manage 1-2 beers a day (albeit it's usually right before bed cause it knocks me out and helps me sleep).

I go back and forth on this one. Sometimes it's one good beer a day, others it's a couple during the week and a freer hand on the weekends. Managing calories and general sobriety tend to be my two main imperatives.

I have 1-2 most weekdays and anywhere from 2-5 on weekends... just kinda depends on whats going on. Wow, now that I think about it, that's probably averaging around 14 beers a week: more beer than I thought I was drinking. I should probably cut back a bit to save calories and $$$ :slight_frown:

The thing about having limits is the closer you are to your limit, the less you care about your limit.

1 beer per hour when I'm out with people. Otherwise I just wait until it's late enough in the day that I won't have to do anything after except go to sleep. And if I start to feel a lack of balance I just stop. My fitness activities naturally limit my drinking, if I'm planning on going running or something I don't drink until after.

One more year of college left + 40-50 hour work week (managing a massive beer cooler) = screw the calorie count. I'm having fun! Try as much as I'd like. I don't have to be to work until 10am or noon on all days. It's awesome. Girlfriend doesn't mind it, she's busy too. I'm enjoying it while I can and before I move onto a real job and a wife/kids.

    Cheers BA!

My pickup's payload is a little under 2000 lbs. Don't have a trailer anymore, so I guess that's my limit.

What a funny corner of the internet this is, where people feel compelled to explain why they don't drink every day.

^^^ very funny. I usually drink beer when I want to and dont drink beer when I dont want too. Seems to work out for me....

(I also only drink beer, wine on the rarest of occasions. I also consume massive quantities of water)

As a family man with a very active son I drink Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays as a rule, unless we have something going on...I don't drink and drive ( unless it's 1 with dinner ) I don't have a set limit on the number of beers..ABV...no points...if I can kiss my elbow...I'm an adult with a life outside of beer. That being said..Cheers!
