I sit down after I have taken care of my responsibilities for the day which usually includes working for 9 hours and some sort of physical activity like going to the gym/biking or working around the house and I enjoy whatever beer I want I'm not drinking to get drunk or anything and I stay around my goal weight so I don't bother to think oh I may have drank too many beers.

Do you mean "half of a corny keg" (0.5x5gal=2.5gal/week) or an actual "half keg" ie "half-barrel keg" (15.5gal)? I don't mean to be judgemental, but if you mean the latter, you might have a problem.

I choose to drink one great beer a day, or maybe two occasionally. I have no rules or restrictions. If I see something I want, I buy it.

Actual 1/2 keg. I have no problem, because I never run out of beer

The problem with self imposed limitations is by the time you hit the limit you're too drunk to care you're at the limit.

Better to just try to adjust your drinking behaviors than set hard limits.

Only recently cut back. I'm trying to drink very little in the week, maybe one a night ever other night, and then just drink anything I want on weekends. I work out fairly frequently so calories aren't an issue, but if I have two or three on a weeknight it messes with my sleep and my work day is shot the next day.

when I drink beer, I usually share it with my wife. We usually share 1 or 2 12oz bottles, or 1 bomber, but we only drink on days that end in a Y.

i usually have samples at the local shop from the constant change in taps a few days a week, 1-2 beers every other day. Fri-sunday is more like 2-3 if buddies are involved.
i find it if you are active through out the day( gym, bike, etc..) and lay in bed before opening a brew... ya dont wanna get up and open a beer.

    for your health

Wtf that's like 9 pints every day if you are drinking a half keg in a week. That's ridiculous. How's your liver?

My beer drinking goes in ebbs and flows. Normally the dictating factor is what kind of beer i have on hand, and how many i have.

For example, i just got back from Austin, Tx and I loaded up on roughly 6 OR 7 different types of DIPA and IPA.
Avg that out to about 5 beers per IPA, i brought back about 40 fresh IPA. (lol not counting any porters or stouts)

I have all of them in my fridge, and will drink probably 2 or 3 a night on the weekday, and around 5 or 6 on Sat and Sunday. I want to take advantage of all those fresh ipa, so i drink them quickly and enjoy them.

But I will also go several months without making a big beer run, and i may only get a 6 pack of something on a friday evening every other week and only drink 1 every other day.

Its all about what i have on hand, really. I dont bend over backwards or break my budget to obtain anything either. IDK i love beer. whatever.
