I don't understand your 10+ months comment? Did you just start drinking 10months ago? Were you way fatter/skinnier 10 months ago? I made a blanket statement for the general population. As with everything, there will be exceptions. If you've had the same eating/drinking habits for years then why would your weight deviate if nothing changes? Eventually your metabolism will slow and if you do drink/eat heavily your weight *should* increase. Also, unless you are a bodybuilder your BMI is not favorable and as another person stated your arteries and heart probably have self-esteem issues. In no way am I calling you fat or making fun of you.....but, no matter how much you don't care heavy drinking does catch-up to everyone.

My desire not to be fat keeps my beer consumption in check. As does my desire not to be hung over at work, but since the fatness threshold is well below the hangover threshold, not wanting to be fat wins out.

I try to keep it to 14 per week. I consider one beer to be 12 oz. and 5% abv. So if I drink a 16 oz. can of Double Bag (which is 7.2%), I consider it to be two beers. A bomber of Imp. Stout that clocks in at 11% would be four beers. Etc. Etc.

Sometimes those 14 beers are distributed over a few days and sometimes they are consumed on Friday and Saturday exclusively.

Of course, weeks like this upcoming one, where I have a couple of days off, am celebrating holidays and seeing friends are weeks where going over 14 is bound to happen.

Where did I get this number of 14 you ask? My doctor said when he asks people how many drinks per week they have he hopes to hear 14 or less. He believes two drinks per day is acceptable. Obviously he wasn't supportive of consuming all 14 beers in a weekend, he preferred them to be spread out over the week. Sorry doc, a man's gotta have his fun.

Depends on the ABV, I try not to actually get drunk and I stop drinking if I can't really taste the beer much anymore.

By the time I, "can't taste the beer anymore" I also "can't find my stop button"

That's why I said really, once I start losing the taste I stop and usually long before then. Have to admit though beerfests are harder, since I'm trying lots of different beers and since many are new to me. I'm not sure how they taste to begin with. This is why I never drive from a beerfest.

Really no concrete rules, but just a general principle of moderation due to different reasons - not a youngin' anymore so no glory in being hammered/hungover (I hate the feeling and I usually need to be somewhat productive the next day) watching calories (they add up quickly with beer), appreciate it more when not drinking all the time.

So, 1 or 2 a couple nights a week. Maybe 3 on Friday or Saturday (not both). Of course, there are always a couple of "big" nights during a year where moderation goes out the window, or there is a special occasion. But, again, overall -- don't drink everyday, and when I do, try to limit to 1 or 2.

A couple things work in my favor. Although I will occassionally have a beer at home alone (always just one), I really don't drink at home alone. So, beer is mainly when going out or when having guests over. Second, I sleep horribly if I eat and drink even 3 beers near the end of the night, so if I'm out late, I'll really try to reign it in. Just go slow, alternate beer with water.

That's a wise move. There are no big beer events in Boston in February, and it's also the shortest month.

Try to refrain from drinking M-W, during the week, and limit myself to one beer on Thursday and Sunday.

I mostly only go to the liquor store on Friday and buy two sixers of beer and a pint of good liquor for myself, and a bigass bottle of cheap vodka for mrs. doowhat. I try not to spend over $70 per week. I only drink during the week if I have leftovers or if company comes over.

A new craft brewery just opened within a few miles of my house, the 3rd local to start producing and pouring.
I fear my days of staying fit n' trim are over.

Try to limit it to 4-5 nights per week. When I do drink, it's usually 1-2, except on weekends where it may sometimes be 3-4.

I lost 80 lbs between April 2012 and January 2013. I stopped losing weight after that. Now my weight stays very stable, despite drinking more than 2 cases of beer a week.

I found cutting most other carbs...potatoes, chips, bread etc. allows me two beers most nights and a few more on weekends. I'm even down 17 pounds in the last four months. Eating all the fat and calories I want with a bulletproof coffee every morning I'm never hungry and can enjoy my beers guilt free. Cholesterol is good too.

Ten minutes to Wapner. Definitely ten minutes to Wapner.

I might be a smidge repetitive. You should see me in the TSA line.....clockwork. My beer fridge is overly organized. I don't drink the same beer twice in a week (I dig variety). I always have three olives in my martini. I have a beer spreadsheet for golf trips. I need help.

    I do count cards.

I always ensure that I get 100% of my RDA. What do you mean it's not on there? 1 or 2 daily is my self imposed limitation. I wish they'd release those 32s of Sucks.
