I've only been there once and unfortunately was only able to try one beer. Luckily that was the Peche saison which was incredible. I loved the atmosphere and the food was very good. Hopefully I can make it back there sometime soon.

Was there Tuesday for the parade/Pumpkin release. Go. Empty your account and go. They have a ton of great stuff on right now. It's a great weekend for it.

If anyone was considering making a special trip today or tomorrow for the pumpkin, dont do it without calling first. They had a mishap and over-carbonated the pumpkin ale so now they are "fixing" it and it will not be available for at least a day.

A similar situation occurred with the peach and I believe other than it being quite heady, it was not comprimised in flavor/aroma so fear not and sit tight.

I was going to go up Saturday, then I heard it's Homecoming at Susquehanna...is it jammed pretty much all day, or is there a lighter time generally on this weekend?

Your best bet is to get there right at opening. Leave HBG at about 10:30am. Grab a seat at the bar. Place will pack over the next hour.

Great place. Only been there once back in 2011 but all their beers were excellent (especially IPA and Stealth Triple). Wish I could get there but its kind of a hike for me. Super chill atmosphere and quality food too.

Elk Creek is definitely worth a visit. I've been there twice while going home to visit family. It's a place that exemplifies the idea that less is more. Food is simple, but well prepared. Their beers are subtle and sessionable. Make sure to sample whatever they have on cask.

The over-carbing issue seems to be resolved and the pumpkin is back on tap as of yesterday afternoon. I am planning a visit up this evening around 5. I cant wait to try this years version.

It was still packed early Sunday afternoon. I had the Hop Nouveau (not as good as last year IMO) and IPA (even better than I remembered from a few weeks ago). Pumpkin was on tap. Food was good , as always.

I feel the same way. I would be there all of the time if it wasn't over two hours away.
