My friend is headed up there tomorrow (along with Pizza Boy and Spring House) and he asked about what I would like. I called SG and they said they had a 13 (?) oz. goblet with these designs on them. They even call it a goblet, but I would call this a snifter or a tulip. Does anyone know if this is what they have currently or mean by a goblet? These photos are from 2012, so not super reliable for current glass. I really just want a teku, but it seems the Spring House one is for their barrel society. "16oz SGB goblets are here, printed front & back $5.75" p.s. This is what I call a goblet:
I think what you call a goblet in the third pic is actually a chalice. I'd call the two top pics a goblet. I think a snifter has a wider, shorter bowl.
Ugh the difference in glass curvature is getting ridiculous, but I love it. I see goblet and chalice as interchangeable, but perhaps that is regional. Glassware terms can be so loose sometimes. Thanks for the quick answer.
Pizza boy has a snifter style glass and I think a logo wine glass (for their sours) for sale I believe. Not sure about spring house but the Teku is definitely barrel society only (my buddy got it with our membership)
You are right that goblet and chalice are interchangeable: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/101/glassware/ I'd lean toward calling it a tulip then.
I have the glass in the first two pics. I believe they called it a Belgian Chalice when I bought one.. which I too was confused about. But whatever, it's a great all-around glass. Get it.
