Maybe you're not being condescending, but you're coming off that way. Carton and Kane make some of the best beer I've ever tried.

also these loans or private money requests are coming with an extra "0" on them. Many brew houses are starting up bigger before they get brewing time in or their own business smarts. That has an article worth of implications
Less established brew places may decrease their risk taking as the risk of failure have increased.A couple noteable failures and the pockets will dry up-the banks and private wealth funders.

Well, yes, no question. Totally agree with you. The point I was trying to make is, people are literally "selling out" the popular breweries. It wasn't worth the time to make the trip BEFORE they became popular on BA. But now, they can trade for whatever they want and all of a sudden it's their "favorite IPA" on Twitter. Give me a break. Probably 1/4 of the people just straight up trade it, without even having tried it. The people who actually taste the beer and were willing to drive an hour or two to get it, before BA knew about it, literally can't even get it anymore.

Just the past year? Lucky bastard. Try living in CA. Seems like someone is having a harder time finding their precious Heady Topper than months or years past. (insert winking smiley face here)

I just go into my local grocery store and watering hole and order beers I know I'll like or seem new and interesting.

There's good beer everywhere. Try not invest too much into "the scene." Must be my mid thirties talking (typing)

Here's what I don't get. How do you know what people are doing with all this beer once they buy it? Maybe they're drinking it, maybe they're trading it, maybe they're sharing it with friends. Point is, well, OK, two points: (1) the brewery is selling its beer, which is why the brewery exists; (2) IPA isn't exactly a rare or hard-to-find style. If my favorite IPA was so hard to get that I felt the need to post a thread on BA about it, I would just buy one of the thousand or so other IPAs that are readily available and almost as good.

I could see a reason to complain if you were talking about some esoteric style that only a handful of breweries do well. But we are literally swimming in great IPAs from every corner of the country. Who drives more than 3 miles for an IPA?

People who love a certain brewery. Tree House is a great brewery, they believe in making their beer available and THE BEST. The Tree House employees simply love people and love beer. And overall, they're the best (in my opinion). That is why I travel an hour on weekends to go there.

But, obviously, other people don't legitimately feel the same. It wasn't worth it for them to make the trip before others raved about TH on BA.

This post wasn't meant to create such hate. It's just an opinion piece. Apparently I'd make a great journalist lol.

I'm not questioning your frustration. And I have no reason to question whether Treehouse makes great beer and is full of great people. But I do question why you think you're somehow entitled to "legitimately" enjoy Treehouse's beer, but others aren't. If you haven't figured it out by now, that might be what's generating the hate.

Look at it this way. All this business will probably enable Treehouse to expand, produce more beer, make it more accessible to more people. Right now you're just seeing a bottleneck where demand is exceeding supply. If they're that good, it will pass.

I'm just hoping the Chinese don't develop a palate for American craft like they did for Bordeaux and Scotch. All these current issues and prices will seem miniscule by comparison.

Hoping it stays strong. I think the market will contract a bit and homogenous. The trendy aspect of it will eventually move on, but I'm hoping a sizable portion of the "bandwagoners" stick around instead of chasing the next best thing. Beer is changing. I'd be awesome to see the market share of craft jump to around 30%. The parity would be great for us consumers.

It's just beer. It's a luxury good. You have no right to a beer over anyone else. Get over your entitlement.

Now if you really want to look smart, instead of whining online go out and find the next great beer that none of those jobless trust-fund Hahvahd kids have even heard of yet.
