Doing a road trip for the heck of it and just wondering which would be the better place in Louisville(or s.indiana) to spend my money, Sergio's world of beers or keg liquors?
SWB is a bar, that happens to have bottles for sale. The Keg is a bottle shop. I do the bulk of my purchases at The Keg and enjoy going to Sergios for a pint, or to try and find a rarer bottle (at a higher price than most places).
Louisville Beer Store has a nice selection of bottles at regular prices as well. Agreed with the comment about Sergio's being more for a pint and higher "to go" bottle prices.
Why not both? I got to Keg weekly. They frequently have harder to find and rare releases in the area, as well as a lot of hard to find bottles. My two shops that I go to the most are Keg and Louisville Beer Store. Keg has totally changed my beer game. Plus Todd is a pretty okay guy Sergio's is a bar that has bottles for sale. He has some really uncommon and sometimes, really rare bottles. I go there quite frequently too. Sergio is a nice guy, always willing to share beer with you. Just keep in mind that it is cash only and the bottle prices are higher than retail bottle shops (But, as stated before, its a bar. So, instead of thinking of it as a bottle shop, think of it as a bar with 1000 taps).
If you are coming down this weekend, check out our (Keg Liquors) Fest of Ale's on June 1st. http://beeradvocate.com/events/info/59176
