This is why I think that every review of a beer should include any dates on the bottle from when it was made, or "to be enjoyed by."

Everyone has their own opinions on taste, but mine is fresh = great. Aged IPA, maybe it doesn't taste bad, but I'd rather it fresh.

Oh, and if I want a barleywine, I buy one, not ruin a DIPA to get a half-a$$ed crappy one. Again, just my opinion.

I just found an almost 9 month old Abrasive in the back of my fridge a couple of weeks ago. It still tasted delicious and IMO very close to the fresh Abrasive I've been drinking every night the last week.

I've had at least one that was over a year old and I thought it tasted delicious.

if you had a day old fresh heady topper and compared it to one that was merely two weeks old. the difference is not only noticeable but huge. same with gandhi bot.

When it comes to IPA's, I'm a fresher is better kind of guy.

I am going to age a couple of my DIPA's I just brewed though, interested to see how they change.

Sure, it's just that your implication seemed that the perameters for the cellaring messege were based on ABV, which is shown to not be the case. Simple misunderstanding. Cheers!

First, this topic has been beaten to death. There's no need for another thread on cellaring IPAs.

As far as the cellaring recommendations on BA, it's auto-content that's displayed based on the ABV range of the style and other criteria. This was all created well-over a decade ago, so it no doubt needs adjusting or removal across the board.
