I am going to be taking my two kids to sesame place for part of next week. It is a family trip and I will be spending only a couple of hours on one of the days getting some beer. Sesame place is in Langhorne, PA. I am looking for some advice:

    1) What package store(s) (if more then one they need to be close together or close to the park) do you suggest
    2) What are some local good PA beers that are usually available in the area that are not in CT
    3) Other recommendations

    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

Trenton Road Takeout is right near there...I've never been myself but I think they carry Russian River stuff which I know is not available in CT. Their facebook page is the site to check out I think...https://www.facebook.com/trentonroadtakeout

Get some fresh Bell's Two Hearted if you can find it there. Also the Sly Fox beers I have had have been good. I have been able to find them at DeCicco's in Brewster.

Just looked on the map and it appears to be about 10 minutes away. Is that a reasonable estimate

Its more like 5 minutes. TRT has an extensive singles section and you can really break any package up into singles. PA prices kinda suck though, at least compared to NJ.

For 6 packs/singles I'd recommend Trenton Rd Takeout but will also suggest Philly's Craft Beer. It's even closer, right on Oxford Valley Rd. Similar selection/prices- maybe hit both if you can. For cases, I'd go with Pat Deon Beverages in Fairless Hills.

Phillys is waaaaay more expensive than TRT, which is around 10 minutes from Sesame. The store has a lot of variety, but don't expect to be walking into a nice place, it's basically a dump.

Meh- Philly Craft's like buck or two more on 6pks/bombers...upside is stuff tends to hang around there longer

2 minutes from Sesame Place is Philly Craft Beer it's on Oxford Valley rd. they have a great selection of bottle beers. I've been there a few times and I think it's better than Trenton rd Takeout which is a dump and the owner isn't friendly IMO. As far as pricing it depends I've got great deals at both places but for me to save a dollar isn't worth going to TRT. Good luck and if your looking for a place to take the family I would suggest Pizzeria UNO maybe 10 minutes down RT. 1 at the Neshaminy mall they have a great draft list don't let the national chain mentality fool yeah they get some great beers.

+1 to TRT being a dump, but I took the kids to Sesame Place several times and only bought stuff at Trenton Rd. Also, grab some Chick-fil-a sandwiches for the ride home, one of those chains we don't have in Western NY or CT.

I might try the place on oxford and trenton takeout since they are so close. I am looking forward to buying the following:

    Alesmith
    Bells
    Cigar city
    Firestone
    Great divide
    Great lakes
    Russian River
    Terrapin
    Troegs

None of which I can get in CT.

Not sure where in CT you live but good selections of Troegs, Firestone, Great Divide, and Alesmith are available in NY and MA.

Great Lakes make some great beers and as I mentioned earlier fresh Two Hearted is awesome!

TRT is basically a dive store if that's possible. Great selection and pretty good prices as far as a bottle shops go. Just search thoroughly and you'll find a lot not available in your home state. Deschutes has just officially entered PA and I've picked up Williamsburg Cafe Royale on my previous 2 occasions.

Its few and far between. I've picked up some Jai Alai cans at TRT before but haven't seen any bottled offerings ever, or any CCB around for that matter.

A friend of mine told me this place has a good selection, I've never been there, but I plan on going up there next time I'm in the area http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/27842/view=beerfly it is called Philly's Steak Wings and Beer, and it looks to be pretty close to Sesame Place as well.

sounds like I have plenty of good options near sesame place. If anything I wont have enough time to go to them all or enough room to bring them all back.....

    Thanks again everyone!
