NO surprises unless they were tapped later in the day. They had the regular suspects on tap plus Sexy Chocolate. No casks. That was really the only disappointment in a very well run and fun release event.

BBA stout is delicous, but I keep going back to BBA People's as my favorite beer from Foothills. It's delicious and at 5.8% it won't knock you on your butt after a pint or two.

SC should be on the shelf locally as of today, TW on high point rd is getting some and I suppose Bestway as well.

Hate I missed you Brent! Didn't get there until about 11 PM since I was doing the whole camping thing. My group had a great time in line, and we had 3 propane heaters so we didn't even get too cold.

I was there, and they did have some "surprises". They had tapped 5 new beers in the days prior (4 that Friday). New seasonal version of the Pilot Mountain Pale Ale (also now available in 12oz 6pks), February IPA of the Month (on draft and bottle), BA Stout, their newest Foot Men beer: Munich Dunkel, and Sexual Chocolate. Plus all of the other offering that wee available. I think that's a good showing!

Any idea when this will hit Columbia? Or has it already?

no inside knowledge, but I'm guessing it doesn't make it that far. We only get a little here in Greensboro.

Just as a reference point, we appear to have a good amount in RVA. Total Wine I stopped at last night had about 5 cases, and that's just one store. I'd hope it went as far south as it did north?

Columbia got some last year, so I'm hoping we get it again this year.

How about SC gets Sexual Chocolate as soon as NC gets Mexican Cake? That seems like a fair distribution trade off

No offense intended, but that "age at least 12 months if not 18 or 24" stuff is goofy talk. 2014 BASC was fantastic the day I stood in line to fetch it. I also think 14 was the best I've had by 'em.

A buddy cracked a 3 year BASC vertical 2012-2014 a few months back. 2014 did drink nicely, but 2012 was fantastic and 2013 was slightly better than 2014. Yearly variation aside, aging does do good things to these 2 beers. I will get a pint fresh from both releases, but will be aging my bottles.

Well, just make sure you do it for at least "12 months, if not 18 or 24!" All kidding aside. I'm with you on aging - my cellar is overflowing. But 14 fresh, IMO, beat the pants off any other BASC I've had - fresh or otherwise. That being said, I've still got 3 bottles of 14 and haven't had any in six months. Wish I could compare the aged bottle to the fresh, where's my time machine!?! Honestly, as much as I enjoy aging my beers, I have to say that I've typically found - dare I say it - the fresher the better. In multiple verticals I've found that to be the rule, rather than the exception. One of the best things about beer? Your mileage may vary. Cheers!

you do realize this is the regular SC thread, not the Barrel Aged Sexual Chocolate thread? BASC is not the same animal as regular SC, but what do I know...and aging regular SC, 2013, and 2014 is a must IMO, way too bitter, opened a 2014 bottle last week, good, but so fucking bitter from the chocolate, needs to mellow.

BTW, when anyone says no "no offense", pretty sure who ever says that is going to do or say something offensive. Feel free to correct me where I'm wrong.

2014 BASC didn't hold the jock of a 2013 Lawson's Fayston's Maple Barrel Aged Stout, as good as 2012 Rare imo.
