Sexual Chocolate in VA/DC

    I saw Norm's got this in Friday evening but I couldn't get over there that night. I'm assuming it sold out upon arrival like some previous limited releases. So any ideas where else I could find a bottle or 2 around the DC area today or tomorrow? Please shout it out if you know anywhere that has it in. Thanks!

    Arrowine got it in Sat. but it sold out pretty quickly. I'm guessing other places may get it in this week (I hope so, as I'm looking for a bottle as well).

    What prices are people seeing? Rodman's is charging $20, which seems a little steep to me for a non-BA stout.

    WF charged me $7.99, but the beer wasn't in the system and I think the clerk didn't feel like tracking down the actual price.

    I've been wondering why a non-BA stout which only scores a 92 goes for such a high price.

    My wife suggested that maybe the guys buying it are buying it for its name and that perhaps they are the type of guys who don't get much of it. And I don't think she was talking about chocolate.

    Thoughts?

    I didn't check the bottle section, but a 12oz draft at whole foods is $4 and a 64 oz growler fill is $16.

    You will find no values at Rodman's. Also, they've been known to price gouge on numerous occasions. Example: $28.99 for a 4-pack of BCBS (limit one per customer). I bought a few for $18.99 (no limit) two blocks away. Great selection though.

    SC was $19.99 at WF as well; that price doesn't seem unreasonable given its scarcity (and that it's normally a brewery-only release where you have to line up at 4 am in NC to get a bottle).

    But is it worth it when there are so many other great chocolate stouts available for much less? Scarcity of a label doesn't really matter when the product itself is not scarce.

    it was on the "right" seasonal bomber shelf, if your'e facing them. not the one where The Bruery stuff is, but the other one, if that makes any sense at all. Closer to the cooler.

    I think I got the last one though, around 1030am. it was the last on the shelf:angry:
