Didn't know if this should go somewhere but wanted to post it. SF is having its beer week starting this week, I know of a few great events this Saturday alone (especially at Beer Revolution with a Sierra Nevada takeover and the Trappist with an all Barrel Aged Beers event). Anyone else going to this/go to it in years past and know of events going on for it?

    Check out: http://www.sfbeerweek.org/schedule/

There are alot of events all over the Bay Area. I have only gone to a couple in the South Bay in the past couple of years. This will be my first year going to the Opening Gala. Stoked!

Finally scored a ticket to the Opening Gala. Gonna get me some Pliny the Younger, too.

Where are the good bars in the area to get a glass of PTY? I know the release is coming up, and outside of the Gala are there any bars that I would have a good shot of getting a glass? I can't get up to RR for that either.

Look at the SF Beer Week website. There are a handful of PTY events including Monk's Kettle and Rosamunde.

Planned a trip to SF for Feb 12-17 and was happy to find out it was during beer week. Now to convince the wife to let me go to a couple of events.

Just give her a credit card and set her loose around some restaurants. Food in SF is fantastic.

Where did you manage to get a ticket? People are asking $150 on craigs, no way.

I don't think RR sends PtY out the the bars picked to get until Monday. It's only available at the brewery the first three days I believe.

Honestly, not too boned about anything in the city for this Saturday. That sours thing at Monk's Kettle has a strong list, but not worth the trouble IMO. Cascade at City Beer maybe.

You can find Younger at bars during the entire two weeks, every day.

Went to a beer week event last year at city beer, and it was a clusterfluck. I don't even think it was anything too special. I could only imagine what a cascade takeover is gonna be like there.

It says on their website they won't ship Younger to the selected bars until Monday.

Good point. I get to Cascade at least once a year, anyway. There's some good stuff in East Bay with SN at Beer Rev and the Trappist Barrel Aged tap takeover.

The Bistro Double IPA Festival has PTY this Saturday morning. It opens at 11am and most people rush right to the PTY. After that, you can sample an amazing list of IIPA and IIIPAs. Toronado always taps a keg early one day of beer week. City Beer traditionally holds off until after beer week.

Those are the two I want to go to. Both great bars, excited to try a few of the beers there that I've never had. Especially the Barley Wines at Revo. that are a few years old.
