For all those nano, brew pub, farm breweries etc. out there that only 100 reviews or less on their beers after a few years of BA reviewers/tickers what are some gem beers being made at some of these tiny volume establishments that people should venture to try that they otherwise wouldn't be on the radar by anyone outside of your local area. What world class, well know beer would you compare it to as being nearly equal to or better than as well?

Brewer's Alley in Frederick, MD makes an very good Oatmeal Stout (not bottled, draft only) and what I consider a world class barrel aged oatmeal stout currently as a special release. Fills an void in the stout world currently as its a BA stout that clocks in at about 7.5% ABV. More sessionable BA stout than a boozy sipper. Very awesome IMO.

Haven't had the BA one but I would have to second this on the oatmeal stout being from Fredneck originally. Not world class but very good and probably the first I ever had of the style back in the day.

Barley and Hops brewpub in Frederick, MD has a brewmaster made a special release Rye Hefewessien (Roggenbier) that was absolutely amazing. I gave it a perfect 5 rating here on BA and it made the 1% top beers of the 1,106 beers sampled that I only gave 5's to. He needs to do another batch of that again. It was better than Weihenstephaner IMO, and I really never had seen anyone else doing a rye based Hefewiessen.

Nanicoke Nectar IPA by Realerevival out of Cambridge MD is the best IPA I've had brewed in the state of MD and one of the higher quality IPAs I've had by anyone. Worth a visit and a sampling.

Not really "local" per say but my husband has a lot of conferences in the Columbus, OH area. Barley's in Columbus makes some fantastic brews like their IIPA, imperial stout, christmas ale, just about every beer they make is great. We've been to a lot of brewpubs- and Barley's is our mutual favorite.

When people go to columbus they are so excited about columbus brewing that this gen often gets overlooked. All with <100 ratings but the top 22/43 current beers have a 4.0 or better average.

North Fork Brewery, Pizzeria, Beer Shrine and Wedding Chapel in Deming WA. Great beers, and the last year or so they've started nice little sour and barrel programs. They only make about 650 bbls a year on a 3 bbl system. They are a must visit on any trip to the PNW.

Wynwood Brewing from Miami, FL is the hometown hero of craft beers. If anyone is ever in the area, be sure to try their Wynwood IPA and their Wynwood 'Apple of my Eye PA'. The brewery is in the heart of the art district and offers flights ranging from $7-$10. Best Miami local brewery in my opinion.

Two Fathers Brewing Company is a very small brewery still getting on its feet here in Norfolk. They brew an English IPA called King Neptune that I would put on a nearly equal footing with Samuel Smith's India Ale.

I'm going to go with O'Connor Great Dismal Black IPA. I didn't go with El Guapo because Great Dismal is "older"... one of the original 4. One of the Norfolk firsts.

I'm on long island New York an Have been recently drinking a lot of kelso brewing (from Brooklyn) industrial ipa!! 10% They just started canning it recently and it is amazing. Little different than heady topper on the more maltier and sweeter side but almost can say it's better!! Or really close to that awesome goodness of heady! Have thrown bunch into trades as extras and everybody has really enjoyed it.

Eagle Rock Brewery did a collab with AleSmith called Dairy Tank that was a fantastic Milk Stout. Very hard to find one time brew but worth grabbing it if you ever see one...I know I will. I think in a few years they'll build quite a name for themselves.

Free will brewing might not be small enough for this, but their IIPA, chasing the dragon, which you can only get at be brewery is amazing. So if you find your self in Perkasie PA, look em up.

For people in the greater Los Angeles area, hop on the 101 towards Ventura and stop in Agoura at Ladyface Ale Companie. Their Belgian-style ales are great. My personal favorites are the Picture City Porter and Trois Filles Tripel, but most of the other beers are very enjoyable. The food is really good too!
