Hmmm, I may have to go over there and give them another chance.....especially since they are in my town. I've had some bad experiences with their beers and their customer service - the epitome of beer snobbery over there IMO, but when i hear something like this from trusted BAs it makes me want to give it another go.

Market Garden Brewery in Cleveland, OH (Ohio City) - Citramax (American IPA)

It was previously brewed for Nano Brew down the street (smaller place with the same owner). It apparently was so popular they moved it to the bigger brewery. Granted, I wasn't as much of a fan this year as in years past.

I mostly agree with you. I don't know if I've had any bad beer, but I've had way too many mediocre beers there. The the "bar food" is decent, though.

And yes, I've had many instances where I kind of felt like the servers were doing me a favor by letting me purchase their beer. But it is a nice place to enjoy a brew in the afternoon.

Now that they have some local competition from Old Ox brewery (which I haven't been to yet), they may step it up a bit.

You are right, I haven't had a bad beer there yet....just a lot of lackluster brews. My bad experiences stem more from staff attitude which will actually turn me off to their brand faster then some sub-par offerings. I need to head over to old Ox still too.

My favorite local beer. Spring House is getting more popular, and they're planning to expand in the near future. Hopefully they'll get more recognition going forward.

Twin Cities area has many but Liftbridge (Silhouette and Hop Dish), Town Hall (Three Hour Tour) and Dangerous Man (Chocolate Milk Stout) are fantastic!

Agree with the DM Choc Milk Stout. Incredible. So was their black ipa. I'd give a nod to Sisyphus too. Every beer I tried there blew my mind.

Well, La Cumbre's Elevated and Prjoect Dank get all the love here in New Mexico and that casts a huge shadow over two other great breweries and their beer: Marble and Il Vicino.

Marble's barrel-aged beers are top-notch, Reserve and Imperial Stout, plus their mug club barley wine is one of my all-time favorites.

Il Vicino's St. Bob's Imperial Stout is an incredible beer. This year they had an anniversary party and broke out 2007 barrel and it was unbelievable. Their Panama Joe Coffee Stout is exceptional too.

For both of these breweries I could name beer after beer that get no love on BA (New Mexico's Beer Advocates are pretty scarce) but that are top tier beers.

Glad to hear about some gems hiding out there. So earlier in the post I mentioned Barley and Hops. Its been opened since 1999 and many of their brews are staples on their taps, yet they don't have any rated over 30 reviews. I guess BA crowd / tickers just don't go there. Not hip enough perhaps. Their loss is my gain...I think their brewmaster puts out some very solid offerings.
