What glassware do fellow BAs use when sharing a single 12oz bottle? I always felt the nose left a lot to be desired when 6oz was poured into a snifter or any other full-size glass. Shared a Red Poppy with a fellow BA today and poured it into 2 stemmed cognac glasses. We both agreed the glass worked with the amount poured. What do you use?
First item listed ftw: http://www.firestonebeer.com/shop/index.php?category=24 Only problem is they'd both be filled to the brim.
The glasses from 50-50 that are branded with the eclipse logo. A 12oz/375mL bottle splits almost perfectly between two.
Ha! We just did this tonight. We used large tulips because they are fun for everything (even water). And it was a Belgian beer. But we have a couple of 6 oz tasting glasses for basic beers... or small white wine glasses for things I want to breathe a little.
These work great for three sharing a 12oz http://www.webstaurantstore.com/libbey-3702-embassy-5-5-oz-brandy-glass-12-cs/5513702.html?utm_source=Shopping.com
If I want to force a bit of a head, I'd probably pour it into my pilsener or my "craft beer glass," which is basically a stick that's probably a bit wider than my pilsener but still small.
A sham pilsner (approx. 8 oz. to the brim, so 1/2 a 12, with adequate room for the head) - good enough for Anchor and Maytag, good enough for me. (Of late I've been using my Hamm's sham pilsner lately, retiring my PBR).
See if you can track down some ISO or INAO wine tasting glasses (the style that Mikkeller & Cantillon tasters are, I believe), they are typically around 7.25 ounces. I recently ordered a case here: http://www.webstaurantstore.com/suf...campaign=PLA&gclid=CJLGo57ajrYCFaFxQgodSTsA_g
I found a bunch of 8oz glass mugs at my dads. I now use them for tapping homebrew and splitting 12oz beers. Also helps the homebrew last a bit longer, not always pouring a 12+oz glass each time I want a beer. It's especially good when a bunch of friends come over to brew.
