I don't care if people don't like the beer i share, at least they know for next time

if i pick up a bomber of something new, i'll usually try a 1/3, then bottle up the rest into 2 thirds, hand it out to friends as "hey, try this, lemme know what you think". if it's cellarable, i might pick up more based on their input so it's more fun to try again next year

I cannot begin to tell you how many converts to "Good Beer" I have brought to "Enlightenment" by sharing a beer or two with them. Usually I will split a bomber or 750 with someone or give them a bottle to try from a 6er or 4 pack. I always start off light though as some beers (such as Stone Ruinten, or Duchess) are not recommended as a first sampling to long time consumers of BMC swill. A good Pale Ale or something in the vein of a NB Fat Tire, DFH Festina Peche' or anything along those lines will usually get them hooked and before you know it they will be darkening the doors of the local craft brew store on a regular basis.

One of the reasons I enjoy growlers is the sharing it promotes.

I share often, even if I know they don't necessarily have the same level of passion I do for the various beer.

If I'm not willing to share beer with a person, I'd have to evaluate why I'd consider them a friend. My friends all know that if I have something they need - it's theirs, it's why we're friends.

I was going to say something similar because only one of my friends ever has anything comparable to what I drink. I just brought back a growler of Columbus Bodhi from a road trip because I knew it wasn't available here plus a 6er of White Rajah. Before a KBS tapping that was invite only I had a few people over to sample BCBS, Expedition, Founders RIS, and a few other big stouts first. I'll never get value for value and I'm cool with that.
