I too once had a tasting that I learned lot form. No spreadsheet though!

I have a couple 40-60 unit (capacity depends on can or bottle); one set at 36 degrees, the other 42 degrees. I keep backstock in a wooden cabinet I built expressly for that purpose. As I take a beer out of fridge, I move one of the same to the top shelf of the cabinet. A single row in the fridge holds 6 beers. When the fourth one gets on the top shelf of the cabinet, I take the two cold ones out and put the 4 warm ones behind. I track the dates simply by looking at what I move to the top shelf of the cabinet.

My lovely wife approved these purchases years ago - the smartest thing I’ve ever done was to marry “up”. I buy her flowers every other week.

This is what sparked my green light for a beer fridge. She needed room for Thanksgiving food, and told me I was taking up too much real estate in the fridge. She can have her food storage space back. If she would just start actually cooking it, we'd be golden.

I do this but my fields are brewery, beer, type/style descriptor, size, and approximate retail price.

I don't track IPAs or any beer not meant to be kept for months. I don't keep track of my mead or homebrews.

That's funny you say that, because every time I head up to Trillium we always stop at a store that's like 10 minutes away from the brewery over in Braintree. I stock up on beer, she stocks up on spiritual stuff (she has been into meditation lately). Great minds think alike!

Didn't really need the spreadsheet to do that one except how many other things were going on with my cellar.

I go with, put beer in fridge, sometimes dark beer/barleywines go in the beer closet, drink as needed. YRMV.

You guys/girls all rock! Glad you’re all beer nerds like me. OP, hopefully your beer fridge and stocking it has been fun. Just wanted to share (ok, brag a little)....I installed this bad boy/wine fridge myself a while back (under the guise, to my wife, that it’d be for beer and wine but it’s ever really had wine in it). It took a long time to find one that would fit properly under the counter in this very odd sized space. I had to cut a couple of shelves out of this space and a small, 10 bottle, built in wine rack as well as run electrical over to it and remove the cabinet face and even move the adjacent cabinet face forward by backing it with 1” thick white pine since the fridge stuck out a bit too much. I am pretty proud of how clean it looked after installing it. It’s just a cheapo Magic Chef fridge I got for $399 but it has dual temp zones, very flexible shelving adjustability and the bitching blue lights u see here. We don’t have cellars/basements here in NorCal so I have to keep my nice bottles in here because it gets up to 105 degrees during summer. Funny thing is my buddy spent 3x as much on his fancy schmancy under counter wine fridge and he’s had nothing but problems with it including a REALLY loud fan. The best thing of all is I figured out how to post a damn picture on beeradvocate with very little effort in order to share with you all. Hope I don’t get made fun of for rambling on here but it seeed like the perfect forum to share this. Cheers

I had a danby DBC120BLS and after 2 years the compressor shorted. I replaced it with the newer model and am very happy. LED lighting, Electronic controller, Glass shelves.
