I will be flying in to Milwaukee tomorrow. My dad is racing at Road America and we are staying in Sheboygan. I saw there looks to be one store to buy decent craft beer. Can anyone recommend some bottles I should look for that are not available in NC? Also, any brew pubs in Sheboygan worth checking out? Thanks for the help.

Don't know the area but definitely try to find some New Glarus . I just traded with a guy from Sheboygan and he sent me some Enigma . Great stuff , Kind of a sour cherry ale . They seem to do the fruit beers really well and lots of other styles too . Enjoy your trip .

Best place in Sheboygan is Jakes Liqour. All their prices are a bit high compared to say Milwaukee but they don't have much competition in Sheboygan so get away with it. Woodlake Market is an upscale grocery store in Kohler which is near by. They have a good selection too.

As for bottles, Jakes has some Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stout which is good. Also the usual Midwest Bells, Founders, and I think Brian Boru from FFF, not sure what all makes it down by you.

As far as pubs, 8th street Ale House is far and away the best choice in Sheboygan. Solid tap and bottle list and pretty decent food.

Does 3 Sheeps have a tap room? They're pretty new and I think the Baaaaaaaaaaaaad Sheep Black Wheat is a pretty decent beer. Haven't had any of the others from the line up yet but they may be worth a try.

The brewery is in a bar called Hops Haven but they aren't really connected. I think they do have all the 3 sheeps stuff on tap though. Oddly enough I'm from Sheboygan and have never tried any of their beers.

Why is everyone coming to the GB/Appleton/Sheboygan area these days? I realize I'm popular and no longer in Chicago but whoa

I've been posting a lot about this brewery lately, but I feel it really deserves some more buzz. Sorry if it's considered spam. Ale Asylum is a really good brewery based in Madison. Their Hopalicious is incredibly popular throughout the city, and their Bedlam (sadly a summer seasonal and maybe not available anymore) is one of my top five beers. Check them out if they're available in Sheboygan. Also, since Three Floyds doesn't distribute to North Carolina, picking up any of their bottles is a must.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I will def try some of the local pubs. Also, will swing by jakes to see what I can find. Hope to come away with some FFF.

If flying into MKE, something else to consider, making a pit stop at Discount Liquor? You're going to be hard pressed to top their selection.

I'm going to try to check this place out. My flight doesn't arrive until 9 tonight. Maybe I can stop there on the way back to airport.
