My awesome wife bought me a large refrigerator and a temperature control thermostat for a xmas present. Set it all up in my garage and began to fill it up, only to quickly notice that the shelves were not going to be able to adequately hold the weight of the beer...they began to bow immediately so I quickly removed the bottles to avoid a disaster. It's apparent I need to come up with something for new shelves. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had this issue. We've contemplated ply wood or glass...but I think glass would be very expensive because it would have to be very thick, tempered, and smoothed on the edges. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Best bet will most likely be plywood. 1/2" thickness

Cut some 1/2" plywood the same size as the shelving and lay it right on top of the existing shelves. It will work very well!

Thanks for the input, I think I'll grab some plywood and give it a shot.

First thing you should do is yell at your wife for buying you a fridge that has inadequate shelving. Then, when you are banished from the house and sleeping in the garage, add some plywood like others have said.
