Good news.. you won't have to hoard or chase for this one.. I just saw a ton of it at two different Specs.

On another note... I'll be picking up some tomorrow for a party I'm going to... should be easy to drink and I'm a Belgian white fan.... and still have a soft spot for Shiner/Spoetzl. I'll pick up some Cheer also...

    Anyone tried it yet?

I'll pick up a single to give it a go. Not a Wit fan.

I didn't start this to hate..ha! I still like trying Spoetzl beers... Shiner Bock is the only beer my wife drinks... so we always have some in the fridge.. but she won't like this one.. pretty sure I will.

Shiner makes great gateway beers into craft beer. Their hefe was a gateway for me. It pales to Live Oak Hefe now, but it was a bridge to better beer. I remember the first time I had a SN Celebration I couldn't get beyond the bitterness. While I might not drink much of their beer now, they played an important role in making me the arrogant beer dick that stands before you today. Shiner Bock isn't great, but it beats the hell out of adjunct lagers. No hate from me.

About 10 years ago their hefeweizen was about as craft as we got in Texas (next to St Arnold). Funny how things change.

Shiner helles was pretty good to me, they replaced it with ruby redbird when they figured a fruit beer was more appealing than a smoked one

They going to can this one? I keep seeing Cheer in cans, but damn, I don't want to have to drink 12 of those.

ALso, kind of pissed they replaced hefeweizen with wit. I really liked it, but it was sometimes hard to find. I guess they thought the were similar enough.P

I still tend to enjoy 90% of their seasonals. I'll be looking for this one.

Didn't think it was that bad, actually. One of the better beers they have made, imo

    "
Shiner White Wing officially went on sale in Texas November 5 and is a Belgian-style wheat ale, known as a witbier, brewed with orange peel and coriander. Brewers used authentic Belgian yeast to shape the flavor, as well as barley and wheat malts, and Saaz hops.

Shiner White Wing is replacing the Shiner Hefewiezen indefinitely as a year-round offering. The beer is available in 12-ounce bottles."--quoted from

Cheer isn't that bad. I just don't care to consume more than 1... per year.

It's decent. It's got the right flavor profile; just wish it had a little more depth. Solid effort.

I had a Wit in the Minneapolis airport that was probably the best American Wit I have ever had. Really wish I had paid more attention to who made it, but was on a layover to Amsterdam.
