Trying to ship my friend some bottles (about 20 and a bomber two) from ohio to California. What's the best way to ship such a large amount of bottles? Never really traded or shipped before. Just good ole box (what size?), bubble wrap, newspaper?
1) I use rubber bands or painters tape instead of packing tape to secure the bubble wrap around the bottles. Makes the bottles easier to unwrap and lets your trader reuse the shipping materials. 2) Also, line the box with a contractors grade garbage bag before lining the box with bubble wrap. The last thing you want is your box discovered because of a leak. It's cheap, easy insurance. 3) Your box sounds like it's gonna be huge, but you might want to double box; placing your box inside a slightly bigger box, surrounded by packing peanuts or crumpled newspaper. It acts as a crumple zone/shock absorber for your precious box of beer karma. Helps to kill the sloshing sound too. I hope this helps and best of luck!
I sent a 60 pound box to California from Illinois... Sent all this beer in one big box: twenty four 12oz bottles and 12 large format bottles! OP send me a message and I can give you some tips if you want to ship all those beers in one box. Cheers!
I shipped a 40 or so pound box from FL to CA. I had a mix of bombers, 12oz bottles and cans, and 2 snifters. All went into one box. I did use a bottle shipper for the 4 bombers and 12 12oz bottles. It all made it to CA with no issues. Good luck!
