Shipping Beer Into Canada

    I've heard a few success stories and I've also heard its a pain in the but to get it up here as well. I'm planning on getting a 6 bottle shipper sent up when the weather is a bit better. Any suggestions other then not to ship into Canada? I've had 100% sucess rate shipping out of Canada claiming it as collectible glass. Thoughts?

    Use canada post as long as it's pack well your are ok. And you don't to declare anything!

    If it's from canada to canada you don't have to declare anything with canada post. It it's from or to us then you declare collectible glassware

    don't do it - very risky and you will scare off the very trader who is naïve enough to accept it this time

    There do seem to be some hubs that cause problems but overall I think the actual percentage of problems is lower then people expect (says while knocking on wood).

    I'm planning on doing a small box. If his end gets destroyed coming into Canada I told him that's my lose not his as I've asked him to ship to Canada. I'll still be sending.my end of the deal. So I'll post back when he ships.

    Mine just got into Winnipeg sadly. I'm calling FedEx today to see what's going on. It said shipment exception. Has anyone else had that?

    I've had that twice. Both times with beer shipping to my mailbox in the US in Pt Roberts, WA, close to Vancouver (which meant they had to cross into Canada to deliver) which is why the beer got flagged. Anyways, one time they let me pick it up at the FedEx warehouse back in the other part of WA, the other time they sent the box back to Florida... Moral of the story, don't use FedEx if shipping into/near? Canada. Still a risk no matter who you use.

    I've had zero problems shipping to Bellingham now, which is still pretty close to Vancouver, but doesn't cross the border like you do going to Pt B.

    If it's in Winnipeg, it's gone, sorry.

    (edit: The small glimmer of hope would be if you could have them return it to sender. However, if customs has it then it's already confiscated, and you can expect a letter of warning in the mail (ignore) ).
