That's awesome! My very first trade, I received a box very similar to what you just described. I thought to myself "WTF?! I gotta be overthinking this!" He even sent me a beer mail stating I over packed and his box would show me how to pack cheaper. I thought about it. He had some good points. I still would rather pay a couple of extra bucks because my box weighs more than cry over spilled Zombie Dust later. Who wants to have to wait until it's brewed again and replace? I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that box, only to have my anticipation shatter along with the beer. Sooner or later I am sure one of my boxes will have an incident. It happens to everyone. I just want to pack in a way that lessens the potential for damage. As I said you just gotta pack in way that makes you and your trading partner comfortable.

It's a federal offense to ship USPS. Not only that, it's much more expensive to ship USPS, even with flat rate boxes. Interestingly enough, I once received a damaged USPS package. The local post office simply brought it out in a plastic container. It smelled really good (an NG Wild Sour that broke), maybe that's why.

You'd be surprised how many veteran traders don't do much of what's @creepinjeeper detailed. I've seen packages like yours.

I'm just glad it happened on my very first trade so I was much more careful subsequently. The trading partner was infinitely understanding and we worked it out right away. Careful planing of breakages was what saved a subsequent shipment that contained a Cherry Rye, something I would not have been able to replace.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!! It takes AT LEAST a good hour to pack a box. I'll have to ask my trading partners how long it took to unwrap. It has been described as a "beer Christmas". hahaha. I also had a trading partner post that he would let me ship one of his daughters the way I pack. (That was quite the compliment.) I will get back to you on the torture of unpacking a box from me. Or better yet, you know you want to experience that agony first hand! Oh yes, @mythaeus , it's your destiny!

Oh, it will happen once all the ridiculous frenzies subside. I hear Pipeworks will be releasing Citra Ninja later this month. Keep your "Wants" updated, we'll work something out I'm sure!

    Cheers!

Hahaha...me? call the cops? I loathe wasting my tax money to go and waste your tax money. I'd rather call my congressman to tell him to change this whole ridiculous prohibition.

Talk about a subtle hint! :grinning: Good thing I signed up for twitter feed from certain breweries. Keep in touch. Once my holiday work schedule and the weather lighten up, I think we can work something out. Looking forward to it!
