Could anybody help me out as to the best way to ship beer? My girlfriend's from Chi and got me a bottle of FFF Apocalypse Cow, and to make sure I have it fresh, she's gonna ship it out to me in NJ. Whats the best way to ship it? I know how to package and to use Fedex or UPS. Will it be alright if it is sent ground, or should it be shipped expedited? Will it go bad?

    Thanks!

Ground will be fine. Make sure no glass touches and the box is tight. You don't want anything to move. Also, if the contents inside are noticeably wobbly Fedex may repackage and see the beer. Good thing I only ship snow globes...

tell her to put the bottle in a large ziploc bag and zip it shut, then wrap as she normally would.

Have her pack your beer as stated by the above BAs. I normally pack my beer to survive a 2-story drop. Usually best to ship beer upright to minimize sloshing noise. Also recommend including a "noise maker" such as an empty water bottle with a couple of pennies or rice in it.

    Good luck shipping your marinades...

If you are shipping lava lamps (as I frequently do), ground should be just fine.

Foam peanuts, wrap it tight, small box. All is well.
