So, this is fairly silly but one soy sure if I should worry about it or not. I'm ready to ship a trade and I am picke boxing it. I've got the interior box all packed and it fits nicely into a 13x13x13 inch bud light beer ball box. It's a sturdy box that's provide good protection for this trade. Should I be worried that it clearly states that it's a box that, atleast at one point, contained beer? Will a shipper become curious? Should I cut the box and turn it inside out or just use it?

    Thanks and cheers!

the box will probably arrive safely but how hard is it to get another box and do things correctly?

Yeah, I personally wouldn't use it. Why give your package courier ANY reason for suspicion?

I've been turned away after showing up with a box with alcohol labels. It was at UPS and the guy offered to help me repackage it in one of their boxes right then and there... how awkward would that have been?

Don't use alcohol related boxes. If you don't want to go on the hunt for a new box, remove all the tape from the Bud Light box and turn it inside out, then re-tape it.

Go buy another new box... a 14" cubed box... put your box inside it and it will be double boxed and will still fit snug.

14"x14"x14" boxes are available at nearly any Fedex shop or shipping supply place.. A nice new box is CHEAP compared to replacing an entire shipment of beers.

turn the bud box inside out, tape the snot our of it and you should be fine. If need be, duct tape it all together. This will remove your worry of using an "alcohol" box.

Exactly. It's not hard to solve this problem and costs like $4.

Alright, thanks for all the responses. I'll just grab a few new boxes then.

If you don't feel like getting a new box, you could also just duct tape the whole thing.

That's good advice, especially since duct tape comes in all sorts of colors now.

Buy a 14x14x14 pad it a bit and do box within a box so you get extra protection and don't have to repack.

I agree with mjtiernan's advice. But as an aside, I sent someone BT in a Bruery box and had no issue. But I knew ahead of time this FedEx place didn't worry about that because my friends shipped a bunch of stuff (not alcohol) in wine boxes they picked up from Trader Joes.

I blacked out the FedEx logos on my last box with Sharpie because I ship with UPS. You can never be too paranoid when it comes to.... someone's following me.

Box-in-box is the tits. I have a setup I really love, so much that on the rare occasion that I trade, I usually offer to ship first so I can get it back. FedEx 16x16x16 outer box, 14x14x14 inner box with a layer of half-inch styrofoam sheeting between on all sides. I double-bag with (free, thanks USPS) padded envelopes inside and have a bunch of bubble wrap and more padded envelopes jammed around on all sides of the envelopes containing the brews. Perfect for a bunch of bottles/cans, or for a growler with an coupla extras. The outer shell is starting to look like hammered ass and is due for replacement, but the innards should last me a good long time.

That's awesome! I love the double-box system. Will just invest in a few of the 14in cubes. Wish a 15in cube was available though.

I'm always a little paranoid when I use a bottle shipper box and there's a note on the bottom describing the capacity, though not explicitly stating it is a bottle shipper. Usually sharpie it out, or get some adhesive backed brown paper tape from the work dispenser to cover it up.

For the longest time, I tried to double box everything, but I've moved away from doing that due to laziness with acquiring boxes that can nest. If it's an important shipment, I'll probably try my best to double box, or use a dual walled cardboard box for it.

We ship telecom equipment at my work so I have unlimited access to boxes, bubble wrap, and this really nice high density foam padding. I use extra bubble and padding on my shipments so that my trading partners end up with some nice reusable material.

At times there's been a general refusal to send boxes similar... I think I read that in a prior post... But also, that could lead to the - do you mind if we see what's in the box? question. Is it possilbe to place that box into another slightly larger box... the old box-in-box method of shipping?

if you're proud of the packing job just wrap it in brown shipping paper. I had a box turned away that started life as a wine box. Don't give them a reason to search your shit.
