Hey there BA fam. I work for a brewery and we are contemplating expanding out of state. Im trying to put together a cost analysis, but cant seem to find any info on general shipping cost. Does anyone have any information on basic brewery to distributor shipping costs? Do we pay? Does the distributor pay? What percentage can we expect? Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated!!!

Entirely depends on where you're at and which distributor you partner with and what terms you sign a contract on. I would google what distributors are in your area and call around.

Thank you! I know there would be some negotiation as to who would take care of that, but do you know if there is a standard shipping rate? $4/cs etc.? Thank you again for your suggestion and help!

Honestly not quite sure. Seems like you take the cost that you want it to sell at in stores and the cost it takes to make it and meet somewhere in the middle. Just remember that both the distributor and final retailer need to make money off the sale.

I’ve worked with several out of state distributors. In every scenario, we tell them the price they’ll pay for the beer and they figure out the cost to get it to their warehouse. Also, you’ll get more specific feedback if you ask on probrewer or use other resources like Brewers Association. This is more of a consumer forum, although there is a section for industry talk as well.
