So I see guys just being generous and saying get me a label and I'll send you beer. I work in distribution and when we ship FedEx and UPS we need box dimensions and weight. So what do I need to make a label for beer trades?
box dimensions & weight don't matter...they'll adjust & charge accordingly you need the SENDER'S (assuming you're sending a label to someone so they can ship you beer) full mailing address and a phone # would be nice
I've always wondered about this. I mean people travel and ship stuff home to themselves all the time right? The bigger curiosity is to do this on regular trades as well so that if caught for improper alcohol shipment, the box would be returned to sender. Or if both address are the same, would they just confiscate the box?
Excellent question. I don't know the answer, but around christmas lots of fedex beer shipments into and out of VT were getting caught. I used this tactic specifically on one trade just in case. It made it through without issue so I never got to test the theory that even if it gets caught, you still get your beer.
I shipped a few boxes of beer to myself in MN from FL and used my home address as the shipper and the recipient. Nobody said anything. The fact that I was by Disneyland when dropping off might have helped but I had no trouble.
