So I have just moved to California, but my beer cellar resides in NJ (at my mothers house). I have been moving around a lot in the past years (Grad school, Peace Corps etc) so that was the best place to keep it. Now that I have a permeant job I am trying to get the beer out west.

Does anyone have experience shipping more than just a trades worth of beer? Would it be best just to do it a bunch of small shipments? or Is there an more economical way of do it? Any suggestions would be great.

    Cheers
    Justin

Be more specific, how many cases do you have?

I would say about 3-4 cases

Find a place that sells Styrofoam wine shippers. ask for an entire case of 12 bottle shippers, which should be 4 to a case. You can pack in that and use it to ship 48 bottles at a time.

Exactly what @The_Beer_Shark said. You'll have your beer in no time. The average cost to ship a 12 shipper like that from coast to coast is somewhere in the $25-$35 market. I have somewhere near 18-20 cases and I would be better off driving it or doing 2-12 shippers a week.
