Shipping LeBleu-Prob.'s? Advice? Wisdom?

    Dave, my experience with all the Ithaca Excelsior series bottles is that they tend to break. So pack carefully. Period. I use styro's for 'em.

    Just bumping this back onto page 1 for any reports of successful sends/receipts of LeBleu from this batch? I have 2 boxes landing tmw., so I will check back with hopefully good news. No exceptions so far, but I haven't checked yet today. Any info is greatly appreciated.

    Had a buddy surprise me with a bottle of batch one at Hunahpu's day this year. Couldn't find a cork screw outside so I went inside to the bar. Remembering that these were gushers, I asked the bartender for a towel. Even with the towel draped completely over the top of the bottle the beer shot out and hit me square in the face. Hit me with such force I thought I lost a contact. Sucked for me and the beer but my friend thought it was hilarious.

    Moral of the story- don't open immediately after shipping.

    I got a bottle from a trade partner yesterday (thanks, Nick!). It traveled about 3,000 miles. Got here OK.

    As I'm packing up several for shipping tomorrow, this thread's got me a teensy worried. First trades (for me) AND finicky LeBleu? :slight_frown:

    My first box, containing 2 LeBleu, has landed safely in Co.! All right! Next one due to land today. So far no horror stories with this year's batch, great news for all involved.

    Just received a box of the new batch on Monday. Only two of the three bottles made it via UPS. Not sure how the one broke since they reboxed it and discarded the broken bottle. What sucks is that it didn't break until it was loaded onto the delivery truck to my house. All the way to FL and it breaks less than five miles from my door.

    Well now we know that there is that danger still. Ugh, I still have more boxes to send.

    I am a jerk, I agree. In Urdu jerk means hippie intellectual, classical music lover, fine literature reader, wild mushroom hunter, congero, artisanal beer fan, and that's definitely me. Thank you :slight_smile:

    I second that, i lost three bottles of batch 2 when i shipped to Minn in a bit to cold of weather. Cant speak for batch 3 as I failed in my endevors

    I've had 1 of the 3 I placed in transit last week arrive safely. The other 2 should be arriving in the next few days, so I'll report back when they (hopefully) do!

    Batch 1 was a time bomb. The first batch 2 I had after the release didn't even carbonate. Great beer when the bottles are good.
