I recently sent a box to Boston, via FedEx, and it got stuck in Wilmington MA. When I called about it I was told that the package was damaged, they knew it contained beer and they wouldn't deliver it or return it to me. fortunately they agreed to allow me or my trading partner to pick it up. When he went there they told him they couldn't find it yesterday. I guess he pitched a little bit of a fit, because between yesterday and today they magically found it and delivered it to his office. He told me all bottles, including extras, were intact, no signs of leakage and he was stumped as to why they didnt' delivver in the first place. Thoughts? Are they scanning packages and opening anything that looks like beer bottles in the Boston area? Thanks
I live really near that Fedex office, no issue with getting beer boxes at all or sending them. got a package yesterday and on the 2nd. That office has also allowed me to pick up open boxes with broken beer bottles clearly visible, the second time just asking me to sign that I was over 21.
That's too bad. I've sent between 6-10 boxes through there over the past 8 months or so and no issues whatsoever on mine. No breakage, no checking of packages. Maybe just unfortunate luck on this one?
I shipped a box to Brookline Mass. from Michigan and it got lost literally 2 hours away from my trader by UPS. I had an investigation report claim and after 10 days my package never showed up. I reshipped what was agreed apon with trader through Fed Ex and it was delivered but a bottle had broke somewhere in transit. Thankfully nothing leaked as all beers were individually bubble wrapped in zip lock bags then all in a big trash bag lots of bubble wrap on all sides of box. Just sucks that I lost a good trader over the whole ordeal
Do you package your boxes with leakage mitigation. I had a bottle break recently and the box arrived unscathed because it was inside a trash bag. Seems like a weird scenario though.
