I am considering an International trade to Sweden.

Anyone with experience that can tell me the best service to use (Fedex, DHL, USPS, etc.) and what I can expect to pay for a 10 lb. box.

USPS Priority. If you use the flat rate box it should come out around $80 but you can have maximum 20 lbs. You can pack your own and it may be a little bit cheaper. You can go to USPS website to estimate the shipping cost.

I used USPS for my ongoing trade to Sweden. Own packaging, 27-28 lbs, $105

    This!

I was sweating bullets when the lady at the Post Office weighed my box of Collectible Glassware and it weighed in at 29.7 lbs ($109)and she said that when it goes over 30lbs the price jumps and some european carriers offer a bit of resistance.

There's a form you have to fill out: itemize each thing in the box, quantity of each, total value of each, etc.
Never mind how almost 30 lbs of 'collectible glassware' can be worth only $20  (tell them it's a solid block of glass)

So you handle this like pretty much all other beer shipments? i didn't know if international was more likely to x-ray/open a box...

I don't know about the increased likelihood of x-ray scanning; this would be my first international shipment.
