Hi all - sorry for the newbie type question but I need some help with shipping some lovely Tree house beers to the UK (probably 4-6 cans).

I've just spent an hour or so researching online, and whilst I'm familiar with the legal situation, and am none the wiser regarding who i should ship with, what to label it as etc....

    1. is using USPS (seems to be the cheapest with a flat rate box ~$50) the cheapest? If so, what should I say is in the container?
    2. if I should not use USPS, then who should i use, how and again, what should i label?

    Thanks a lot!!

Usps is the only good option for international. Say you are sending bottles of specialty bbq sauce or olive oil. Recently sent cans to Canada via a flat rate box and this worked like a charm.

Thanks all - yes; read the 'snow globes' suggestion a few times!

Hi mate, I think you're right in that USPS tends to be the most popular option to ship to the UK. Having said that, I've also had people send me stuff via ParcelMonkey and the service is a little strange but everything has made it over safely in the past and the price has been excellent.

Couple of extra things: double boxing tends to be a lucky charm, declaring as low value (under 20/30 USD) helps prevent extra charges from being incurred and I think in general people try to avoid declaring as olive oil or iced tea (in my experience) and go for collectible glassware/ snow globes more often but I guess that's just preference.

Revitalizing this thread, as I am looking to send a package.

Right now USPS is telling me $90 for a Large flat rate box ($70 for a medium). Also, the prices are the same (Approx. $96) to "use my own box" that ways 20 pounds, regardless of whether it is:

    24 x 16 x 16
    or
    16x14x10

The price jumps to $120 if that poundage goes to 30lbs.

I checked parcel monkey, and it looks like they are quoting USPS at $160 for a 30lb package (WTF?), Shows DHL at $93, but shows a service I have never heard of (TrakPak) for a rather cheap $67!!!

Obviously I'd like to use TrakPak, but I've never heard of them. Reviews generally look good (both when googling and on ParcelMonkey).

    My questions are:

Does anyone have any experience with TrakPak or Parcelmonkey?
Is there any other way to save money? (From reading comments above and in other posts, I sure as hell thought the cost was closer to $60. I even received a package closer to the size I am looking to send, and it had $48 listed on the sticker from USPS.)
Am I better off using a Styrofoam shipper with a double-heavy-duty-cardboard liner, a 'cardboard' shipper like someplace like Craft Beer Kings uses, or just using a box, packing super well, etc. etc. etc.
    Other recommendations?

Surely someone has something to add! Any help would be greatly appreciated. This isn't time sensitive, so I don't need help ASAP or I'm screwed, but I'd love any advice that anyone can give.
