I am currently working in Spain but returning to California in the summer and would like to be able to bring back beer that I want to age back in my "cellar" in Cali. What is the best way about getting my beer back without compromising the beer? Will they be able to fly? I also want to bring back my empty bottles for my collection. Whats a good service for shipping large packages? Thank you!

Usually up to 20kg is the max through the regular post office. Not sure what that is in Spain though. Usually cost around 100 euros and will get you around 15 full bombers.

Fedex,DHL, and UPS are rather expensive. And the packages more often then not end up getting transported by them anyways until it gets sent to USPS in the states.

As for packing. Bubble wrap each bottle. Make sure there is plenty of packing peanuts to keep the bottles from moving in the box. And try to put everything into a plastic sealed bag, incase of leakage. Declare it as collectible glassware or yeast samples. It really is that simple.

Thank you, so helpful. Small price to pay, but totally worth it!
