A lot of things come into play: location, transit time, business address, residential, etc. Usually bank on $30-$40 for a large box from coast to coast and down from there.

you can plug the dimensions and locations in online before you drop it off at the shipping location to give you an estimate of what you're getting into.

    Yup.

I've done side by side comparison several times before, and FedEx is consistently cheaper than UPS. 3x bombers + 3x 12oz should not cost $30 coast to coast unless @antman27 used a huge box in which dimensional weight would be used and thus costs more than expected. Coast to coast for me (Philly) generally averages around $1+/lb (usually minimum of $15 or $20) with FedEx print label online and drop off, $35 for a 28lbs box last time I sent one that big.

That's about right. I just made a "mock" FedEx shipment with my account to my buddy in Lake Forest, California. Assuming a normal sized box that won't incur surcharges I am getting a price of $31.14 for a 28 lb box.

That said, the OP's 3x bombers and 3x 12 oz bottles are no where near 28 lbs, so he definitely overpaid if he was charged $30 for that. Yikes.

I try and keep my trading to folks on the east coast because of cost. Shipping a 12 bottle shipper coast to coast adds a decent chunk to the cost of the trade. Even colorado is spendy. Up and down the east coast best option for me.

I can ship 6 bottles to Belgium for 70!

    Illegal vs frowned upon.

It's also why if I trade Ca guys are at a disadvantage, it's just expensive and takes forever for a box to get there. And it's cold here. I can get boxes to upstate Ny in two days, cheaper with FX vs Ups.

I sent myself 3 12 shippers that were all full via UPS Ground from San Francisco to Chicago. Total price was $150. If I wasn't sending myself so much hard-to-find liquid gold, I would've been a little apoplectic.
