Shmaltz - Bock Bock (Bourbon Barrel-Aged Bock)

    Bock Bock is a new bourbon barrel-aged Bock coming from Shmaltz Brewing. It spent several months in a blend of bourbon barrels, including Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, and Buffalo Trace. This beer will come packaged in 22oz bombers and will clock in at 9.2%abv. There were a total of 1,269 cases produced and this will see limited distribution across the Shmaltz distribution footprint. Look for it on shelves in May!

    “Barrel-aged Bock Bock gains its toasty, rich malt body and nutty caramel flavor from distinctive European malts, such as Vienna, Munich and Crystal, to make a traditional bock base,” said Shmaltz Brewing Company’s Lead Brewer Richie Saunders.

    Picked up a couple bottles on Wednesday. Can't wait to try it!

    Wolverine makes a BA lager called Massacre that is just awesome. It holds up very nicely.

    Barrel aged bock sounds like a good idea. And to read previous comments, it's been done well before. I hope this hits pills as we do get schmaltz around here.

    In my dist, I have been noticing a lot more BA Bocks. Its exciting that breweries are learning to BA something besides stouts and barleywines. Oh yeah, and bock are good unto themselves.

    Damn. Sorry for the late reply. Just saw this. Perfect Pour had it. Not sure who else, but I'm guessing most good stores have it by now.
