My wife got pregnant last June and I bought her a case of Shocktop Pumpkin wheat because it is her favorite, and since she could not drink it, it has been sitting since probably Nov 2014. We welcomed our first baby girl a few weeks ago, and she'll be ready for that beer any time now, I want to know if it is still going to be good, if not better?
The guy at the beer store assured me, it will be good for about a year, and that he was still drinking some Christmas ales from the previous year.
I have no reason not to believe the beer will be bad, because some of my home brew has been sitting for 5+ months as is fantastic! I just wans't sure if macros are any different.

    Congrats on your baby girl!

But as for the rest of your post:
    1. 4 months is not that long ago. I've had IPAs from the shelf that were older that were fantastic.
    2. Beer doesn't go bad. But I would almost guarantee that it will not be better. The general consensus is that beers with adjuncts don't improve with age. I'd bet either the same, a little bit muted, or have spice flavors that have become less desirable.

Especially if the temperature has stayed cool, or at least steady, it will probably not be much different. Try it! And let us know.

At six months, probably not a lot has happened, except the beer will be a tad bit worse - probably more bitter and less brightly flavored. Most like the change is imperceptible.

That beer will just get worse, though. As a low ABV Macro Wheat Beer with Adjuncts, there is not a lot going for this beer that will make it better with time. Not all beers improve with age. Do a search in this forum for threads about what beer to age to get a better understanding of what beers are best worth aging.

After nine+ months any ol' beer will taste amazing. Have at it.
