Has anyone tried any of the 2009 bottles yet?
How are the carbonation levels this time around - poor like 2008, halfway decent like 2007? Specifically, does the Lost Sailor (and Discombobulation if they made it again) have enough?

Also, how is the new red wine / raspberry one?

The Raspberry variant is phenomenal. There is a lot going on in that bottle, and it is definitely a bottle to be shared. The carbonation levels are a little low overall, but the gravity and complexity of the Lost Sailor is quite good - while it's no BCBS (few are), it is worth picking up. I had the opportunity to try the entire Barrel Aged Series lineup on release day a couple months back and the Lost Sailor and Raspberry variants were the strongest in the lineup by a wide margin. Were it not for the high price for the Raspberry (I believe it was $25 a bottle), I would have picked up a case.

Yes, the Raspberry version is a good beer. Nice flavor. Opened up a bottle at the Hampton Inn Pre DLD tasting. Also have the two of the Big Bella variations. Wish they would have made the Sum Cens version. i really enjoy when Breweries Bourbon age beers-Founders Hand of Doom and Looking Glass

I had planned to pick up a bottle of the Raspberry as it sounded great, but I ultimately balked at the $28 price tag today. I had been hoping for more along the lines of $20.

I agree. It's a shame too, because its a local brewery for me and after seeing several barrel aged bottles on the shelf of a local liquor store, I really wanted to pick a few up. $25 is a bit steep though, especially for such a small and newish brewery.

The price for their bottles are high. I notice the same bottles in the local stores all the time. You would think word would have got back to them that they are not selling, and that the price is too high. Maybe they don't care.

For a brewery that almost nobody has heard of you think they wouldn't price themselves out of business! It's like Nebraska's BA beers except people have heard of them. Still overpriced though!
