This place is opening in Schiller Park on Friday. The place looks massive and I've heard absolutely ZERO about them. Does anyone have any info?

A quick untapped search yields a place in NY and a mysterious brewery with no location attached that has checked in a Scottish Ale and a pumpkin/yam beer...Either way I'm intrigued as it's now the closest brewery to my house.

The brewmaster appears to be the former brewmaster of Sweet Mullet Brewing in Wisconsin. Looks like they make a standard line up of IPA, APA, Porter, Stout, Lager, etc. The initial line up of 12 beers here appears to be the same. This place reeks of wealthy benefactors trying to cash in on craft beer. The place is massive. We'll see how long before they start contract brewing a house IPA for Fridays.

The owner/chef came into my work to pickup supplies the other day. Full service brewery with distribution capabilities. She claimed to have a highly acclaimed brewer from Wisconsin. She also said it was a scratch kitchen. I think they open Friday.

It will be interesting to see how it goes. The last two places he worked in WI (The Grumpy Troll, Sweet Mullets) he pretty much just upped and left with little explanation (to the public at least). I'm an acquaintance of the person who bought Sweet Mullets from him and to keep it simple, he indicated it was quite an interesting transaction and state the brewery was left in. He makes good beer and I'll be sure to stop in if Im down that way.

Dusting this one off because I am hearing that the majority of the brewery staff as well as the GM of the taproom suddenly quit today - anyone hear anything about this or know whats going on?

Yup. They're a bit heavy on the various pale ales for my tastes. Their stout, Sticky Bomb, and it's coconut variant, Sticky Nuts, are fabulous. As is their German Chocolate Cake. It tastes JUST like a German chocolate cake. The food's really good too!

Not sure, but my buddy left some Belgian beer by them in my fridge and it was OK but not good enough for me to drink all 3 of them in the past 8 months.

If it's their Strong Belgian, that one was too sweet. Don't know enough about brewing to say if it had too much malt or brewer's sugar. Or something else.
