I didn't see a threa started yet so figured I would get it going. I will be a first time participant to the anniversary party. Anybody care to chime in on what to expect? What kind of bottles are typically available? Looking forward to it!

I know the anniversary ale is supposed to be in bombers this year but not sure if there will be anything else

They recently had Bourbon Wizard on tap at Pyramid Scheme in GR (believe it was there)... Shape of things to come? One can hope.

Went last year for the first time. Had a blast and am going back this year. Last year they had Anniversary Ale available in 6 packs and a Private Stache release (Creepster). You could pay for what you wanted when you walk in and then grab it on your way out.

Should have good beer on tap that you won't find in bottles and it sounds like they are putting out never seen before beers again. Hopefully we get nice weather like last year.

This will be our 3rd year in a row.
I can mirror what others have said.. a REALLY world class event. Everything goes off without a hitch.
It always ends up being crowded enough to be fun, while still having enough space to move around and, since it takes place on the entire city block in front of the brewery, there are quite a few little areas to sneak off to and sit down/hang out/etc while being away from the crowd and/or the bands playing (not that we spend too much time doing that, but its nice to go chill out for a bit... Last year being Back To The Future themed, we spent a ton of time just hanging out admiring the DeLorean they had at the far end of the party grounds)

A cool thing about getting there is if you're staying at one of the resorts (this includes renting condo's, etc) you can get on a free shuttle at any of the resorts main buildings and they take you RIGHT to the party, and they have a pickup spot to get you home (shuttles run every half hr or so, but you can call them if you need one specifically.. the driver that takes you there will give you a card)

As for the pre-party at the pub Friday night, you can take the free shuttle to the pub, but the shuttles only go till 10, so if you stay later than that, you can just use the taxi service, which there is a cost for, but it is CHEAP... to get us from the front door of the pub to Summit Village was $2 lol!

This will be my third year in a row. This party is always a good time. Always guaranteed good beer, good food and a good time with people that appreciate good beer. What more could you want?

I'll second Shanty Creek. Really nice rooms and not overly expensive at all for what you get. Also as mentioned above they have a free shuttle downtown. Not just Saturday. We shuttled into town to hang out at the pub Friday evening as well and was able to call the guy for a pickup later on.

As for lodging, we've always used this
    https://www.homeaway.com/search/mic...,+USA/arrival:2016-04-29/departure:2016-05-01

The we book the same condo, in Shanty Creek (our place is like...30 yard walk from where the shuttle picks up at the main building)
We pay $158 total for Friday and Saturday, and includes access to the resort pool/jaccuzi (which is an awesome way to relax after we go for a hike all Friday afternoon before we head into town for dinner/pre-party. Its a studio condo, so its one big room with a small kitchen, king size bed, and a pullout couch. It's always bee just my wife and I, but with the couch you could easily have 4 people stay... plenty of room. There's several like that all in named "groups" or "neighborhoods" if you will, the one we stay at is in Windcliff...

But, really, anywhere you stay on the Shanty Creek properties is gonna be great for getting there and back and be nice lodging

That's it? Kinda weak. They have that many beers on tap during the weekdays. Most festivals they show up to (WBF) are about on par with that.

Anyway, do tickets to this usually sell out prior to the event? If so, about when? Might make a last minute decision to go to this.

    Can we say perfect weather?!
Last year was sliiiiiiightly cooler than I would like (had to wear a jacket and hat the whole time)
But this year looks like a longsleeve shirt at the most for me.

Better than last years list, I think we were incredibly spoiled with the 10th anny party list. I blacked out hard at the 10th, and had a coherent and great time at all the others, I'm good with this list.

I believe it'a a no-no, since the line is not on their property. I believe the police will frown strongly on it.

    ^This... completely lol^

The 10th was insanity (in the best possible way, lol)
It will never be like that again... well...maybe at the 20th!

But yeah, I'm completely happy with the lineup. Theres some good stuff on there, good number of things i've never had. And with the list being smaller, it makes it possible to enjoy a second pour of any that you end up really digging.

Would everyone active on BeerAdvocate like to meet up for a photo? If so lets say 7.45pm in front of the new Pharmacy on the other side of the street from Short's.
