I think it is one of the best beers they make.

My favorites of that selection is ControversiALE and Bellaire Brown. Both are very good beers.

ContriversiALE is likely seasonal, and you won't see it again for a year. It's worth grabbing. The rest are year-rounds that you'll likely find all the time.

Hopefully they are sending you fresh ContriversiALE. First time I saw some here it was already 2 months old. Any of their limited IPAs should be plenty fresh though

I'll have to second the opinion of Short's ControveriAle - it's a very solid beer, and every year, I'm surprised by how much I like it. Even with two months on it, it should still be good.

As for Soft Parade, this is definitely one to try. I'm not one for fruity beers, but after speaking to a Shorts rep about the amount of fresh berries they use for this beer, I had a new appreciation for it and have come to really enjoy it on warmer days.

On a side note: The rep I spoke with also explained that Soft Parade was originally one of their top two biggest sellers but was unfortunately, one that they really struggled to make a profit from, given the amount of local fresh fruit it required. They've since changed their process and greatly increased the size of the berry farm they use. Needless to say, this is not one of those artificially berry flavored concoctions.

ControversiALE is delicious this year, and I've always been a big fan of Bellaire Brown. Which is a shame, because it gets overlooked so much (I include myself in that statement as well).

Soft Parade was the first Short's ale I had, so I will always have a soft spot for it. It's a great hot summer afternoon sipper, and hits surprisingly hard.

I'm in SW burns too and my local Jewel had 3 different Shorts beers. They had Huma and I don't recall the other two.

    K
Check around, Hopstache is on tap right now. If you're in the western Wayne County area, One Under in Livonia had it, and it was awesome.
