Shorts does a fine job with Shandies. They took a beer that I don’t like (Soft Parade) and made it very drinkable (Soft Parade Shandy)

Spruce Tip Picking sound like a great summer activity! Do they plan on picking Rye Not’s as well?

No joke, my long-time friend's dad is absolutely obsessed with Prolonged Enjoyment and mentions it everytime I see him. I really thought with Short's seeming to focus on sessionable brews right now we'd see it back out again.

I can only hope, I was just given one teaser.

    It's time to celebrate, BAs!

Interesting to see this one getting a Colorado release in addition to Michigan. I'll take some Odells Myrcenary in exchange please.

Also, if you're ordering online, Barrel Aged Wit Happens is available.

I heard there could be a shandy sampler pack coming out this summer. So Scooter could be part of that.

I don't know why they haven't done one before. Shandys have gotta be cheaper to produce and I know they sell like hotcakes during the summer.

As long as Rosie is part of it I'll be happy!

I'll be up in Bellaire tomorrow. Looking forward to a Sketches of Winkle and hoping they have something on cask.

As many times as I've been to Short's, I've never tried them...

Loving these Wayne County deliveries. Just had Barrel Wit and it hit the spot, but makes me long for some Nicie. Unfortunately after talking to the Short's folks there seems to be too much love/hate on Nicie for them relese again :slight_frown:

Shnadys are nice but too sweet for me once you get past two, but I know the wife will love this. Seriously the past two years I'm barely able to get get at least one power out of every six pack from her.

As much as I loved Prolonged, I would be fine with Lil' Huma if they dont plan on bringing Prolonged back.

ELK RAPIDS, Mich. — Michigan-based Short's Brewing Company acquired the rights to brew Arcadia Beer, Short’s CEO Scott Newman-Bale confirmed Friday.

He said Short’s plans to get Arcadia brand beers back on the shelves by July 4, 2020 through its Superfluid Supply Co. division.

Short's will brew the beer in Elk Rapids.

Arcadia closed in Kalamazoo in September of 2019.

The Grand Woods Lounge is set to move the site of the former Arcadia Brewing building, located on the edge of downtown Kalamazoo.

The Arcadia Brewing Co. in Kalamazoo faced property foreclosure December 2018, over the building and grounds near the river on the city's east side. Newman-Bale said his company's decision to acquire the rights to the beer is not connected to the property site in Kalamazoo.
Although Arcadia beer brands will no longer be brewed in Kalamazoo, Short’s CEO said most of the beer will be shipped to Kalamazoo to be distributed by Imperial Beverage.

Arcadia founder Tim Suprise said he is grateful for Short's Brewing.

“I’m very grateful that the brand is with a group that cares about craft beer and it’s culture, as opposed to the man who acquired it from the lender by using prevarication, obfuscation and dishonesty with my daughter, my wife and me for strictly the real estate that we developed," Suprise said.

This is.... different. I didn't think Arcadia had that size of a following to make reviving the brand worth it. While most of the brews I found to be okay, I more enjoyed the food while stopping at the Battle Creek location for dinner after visiting the zoo.

If Short's is going to do this, I hope they focus on English/Euro style ales that were Arcadia's strong point, and don't Shortsify it.

I was hoping they would buy the facility and brew Shorts beer in Kalamazoo. Then maybe I could get some barrel aged stuff.

Looks like the first beer will be Whitsun. Maybe they'll accidentally fill the cans with Nicie instead.
