Got my 6pk of Spruce Pilsner this week. Definately lower distribution than usual. My store only had 3 6pks in the fridge when they normally have a couple cases.

Side note, my store also had some fancy Transient stuff, so now I have to find a weekend to compare the Bugs Buckley (carrot stout) with some of the Bourbon Carrot Cake I just had delivered.

Sadly, it does not appear much (if any) Spruce Pilsner made it to SW Michigan. I was shut out. Most of the shop I frequent never received any. But if anybody needs Soft Parade ...

Joe Shorts, Count me as a Dissatisfied customer.

This is interesting to me as every shop up here seems to have at least two cases...

I even hit Meijer, then starting calling any liquor store within 50 miles. When MegaBev hung up on my, I decided it was a sign to give up.

It hit the saginaw area yesterday so don't give up yet

I saw bottles of Bell's Spruce Pilsner at the General Store yesterday but didn't grab any, and now I wonder if I should have. I haven't been to my two local stores yet, but now that's on my to-do list for tomorrow.

I would be really curious to try Bell's Spruce, do you know how long they usually have it at the General Store?

I have to confess an error; it's a Spruce IPA, not a pilsner. I'm pretty sure I had it on tap last year, but looking at Bell's check-ins here on BA, it looks like it was first bottled this year. It's a small batch General Store-only offering so I can't predict how long it will last. It's still on the online ordering site today. https://pickup.bellsbeer.com/

Success at Horrock's Battle Creek so I didn't even have to check Mega-Bev. There were two 6-packs left, but it doesn't look like they got very much of it either. Thanks, Joe Short.

Finishing my hoppy holidays pack. Last 3 were juicy tree. My first time having it. I see how this is a polarizing beer. First sip out of my 38 degree fridge was horrible - wondered how I would finish it. Warmed to 55 degrees - a different brew. The pine comes forward to balance the fruits. Not something I would rush out to buy more but saved my drain a few pours.

Short's Instagram was showing off some barrels saying multiple barrel aged beers are coming soon. COLA registry shows 3 approved labels for 22oz Bombers. Bourbon Cup A Joe (which now has a spot in the beer portfolio on the website), BBA Ein Freund (a holiday staple), and something called Local's Heavy.

Good news: BBA Black Sustenance and Bourborn Cup A Joe is now available at Short's Mart.

Bad News: No more beer deliveries. Kind of expected it when they went to twice a month deliveries down state, but it was awesome to try all the private staches I normally miss out on.

I was cleaning out my desk and found a Brew Schedule brochure from summer 2011:

    Nicie Spicie--June-August
    India Spruce Pilsner (an Imperial!)--June
    Rich's Rye--June
    Strawberry Short's Cake--July
    Beach Wheat--July
    Key Lime Pie--August
    Bludgeon Yer Rye--August

    5 Year-rounds:
Huma, Soft Parade (8%!), Pandemonium, Belaire Brown and The Magician

And still to come (from Sept. to Dec.) in 2011:
Autumn Ale, Ale La Reverend, Bloody Beer, Noble Chaos, Kind Ale, Black Cherry Porter, Chocolate Wheat, Ginger in the Rye, Cuppa Joe, Publican Porter, Good Humans, Liberator, Wizard.

It's a crime that they don't brew Publican.
