If you look at Peaches in UT for the last dates of ratings, the info is confusing. Some bottles, can(?) and draft are listed since last fall, with the latest being in March.

Further evidence that Untappd is unreliable.

I finally found this one today. It's interesting and a great beer! Best sour that I've had from Short's. Not quite what I expected because it isn't as close to a whiskey sour as what I thought it would be, but you can taste the characteristics of a whiskey sour in it. Maybe it's the character of the barrel that is too pronounced.

They need to add Wayne county.

Ok, I took a little time while watching TV tonight and sipping brew (Red's Rye has a MI only can release, very nice) and combed through as far back as I could of variety packs and limited releases.

The following is a list of one-off limited releases, releases we haven't seen a few years, grocery chain releases, and variety pack brews that were here and gone.

This is by no means exhaustive. There's probably some I've missed, and some that I've included we may want to take off if they've been recently released and I've forgotten. I know some of you guys will remember some others. I figure we can create brackets after we have a list of brews we want to include.

The list is kind of in chronological order but not really. Sound off BAs!

I just ordered some and sent it to my friend's house in Novi. Not ideal, but I couldn't pass up some Barrel Aged Moher, Rye Whiskey Bodacious, and the variety pack

    Funny story......

I just did the same to my buddy's house in Wixom, but we forgot to run it by his wife beforehand and for some reason she did not approve after I submitted the order (hard to explain, but she crazy). I reached out to Short's to see if I can change the delivery address, but it was late on a Saturday so I dont expect a response for a day or two. I know the Short's people are good people (great reps down here and at the pub), so we should be able to get this sorted out, but I feel so bad for the inconvenience this may cause them.

Unfortunately my next best address is literally on the other side (wayne county side) of 8 mile from Oakland County. Hopefully all works out for the best and remember to tip the deliver driver!

Oh man what a list! I can taste it as I read it haha.

I was literally starting mine tonight to share, but felt compelled to try and include the year rounders. I also wanted to exclude private stache and pub only brews due to their limited availability. I love the idea of limted releases only because the flagships will most likely prevail over the others. I think this may be the way to go.

Also doesnt look like you missed any from the past 5-6 years. I really can't think any further back haha.

    Edit:
Should Freedom of '78 be on there? It's an annual release, but limited. Also Cat grass? Noble Chaos?

This is such a huge list, I am not sure how to respond. Should we start with drafting favorites we would like to see in the tournament. If so, how many?

For Hoppy beers, I think the Batch 5000, 8000, and 10,000 should be included. I'd replace Slurm for Slurm Lord. Maybe Step into the Haze and Chief Hopper. Really don't know how to get it down 16. For hoppy beers, probably need it's own 64 beer tournament! For brown beers The Woodmaster and Good Humans are (or should be) considered for the top seeds. Maybe Joyous Almondo and London Fog for that catagory as well. Also Nicie needs to be included in the experimental side. I'll try to think of some more.

And yes, Freedom of '78 has to be on the list! My all time #1 Short's beer.

Freedom is one of my favorites, too, but it's regularly released every year, which is why I left it out of my list, along with a few others. Woodmaster for the same reason.

I think the Batches would be a good inclusion. Since Slurm Lord was a seasonal just a year or so ago and has had a couple releases, and Slurm was released just once, I'd agree. I'd also put Step Into the Haze in there for selfish reasons - it's my favorite of the Short's "hazy" brews. I ignored a lot of the Hoppy Holidays brews because most of them got a couple releases in the last few years, either in six packs or appearing in multiple HH packs.

Did Joyous Almondo get a bottle release?

Maybe something to think about, too. Instead of creating style conferences, just dividing the brews two different conferences. That way it's more flexible if we want to include any number beers.

Someone mentioned seeding by BA score, I think that's a good way to go.

I think Chaos might be good for a spot, we haven't seen it in a while. Cat Grass and Freedom are awesome but we've regularly seen them the past few years.

Plum Rye Bock sounds interesting, but I bet that is a beer we never see again since bocks are not a trendy style.

Its not likely, but bocks could come back to some extent. We have seen lagers come back the past two years and Blackrocks and Brew Detroit just released some delicious bocks.

Speaking of brews we haven't seen in a minute, I just noticed that Space Rock was elevated back to the Flagship pantheon. Don't know when it happened and haven't seen any announcements, but here we are. I wonder if Juicy Brut hasn't been putting up the sales they hoped for.

So if you see some Space Rock in your local shop, just make sure to check the bottle dates. We all know at least one place that'll put old stuff on the shelves when it gets a new release.

    IMO, flagship Pale Ale rankings:
Pandemonium > Space Rock > Juicy Brut
